We ordered a takeaway of aloo paratha and samosa. The aloo paratha was very bland, almost like the cook forgot to add salt. For a Punjabi place, the paratha was disappointing and nowhere near the expected level. The samosa was okay-ish but nothing special

I want to share my experience with the dishonesty I was shown by the owners during my last visit to this place a couple days ago on Saturday, July 13th.

To provide appropriate context so that the review makes sense, it needs to be pointed out that there are two very similarly named Indian grocery stores on the exact same street — West Blaine – less than a mile away from each other: the one towards the west on 1320 is called New India Sweets & Spices, and this one towards the east on 779 is called India Sweets & Groceries. To clarify, my review is about the latter one on 779 West Blaine, but my experience and this review involves confusion about these two similarly named places next to each other.

I've visited 779 a couple times before to pick up my order of two dozen samosas and shop other groceries. This time too, I had placed an order for two dozen samosas. However, when I called to place the order, I had accidentally called the other store on 1320 instead. When I went to 779 to pick up my samosa order, I told the main owner there (the Punjabi sardar gentleman with the turban in maybe his 50s or 60s), "Hi, I'm here to pick up my samosa order?" He replied, "you want it right now?" Of course, this response confused me, because I was still under my faulty assumption that this is the place I had called. But I shrugged it off, and said, "Yes, I'm the one who called to place the order about 20 minutes ago."

At that point, the appropriate thing to have done was to inform me that there was no such order that they had received, so that I could figure out what was going on and decide next steps. Instead, the owner just nodded, and silently started making the order on the spot. I was confused why I had to wait there for 20-30 minutes for an order that should have already been ready (from prior experience for the two times I visited before, it takes only about 20 minutes to finish the order for two dozen samosas).

Half an hour later when I got back home, I got a call from the 1320 store that they were wondering why I still haven't picked up the order. When the confusion cleared up, I offered to pay 1320 half of the order cost because I felt bad for my mistake (I wasn't going to go pick it up, just pay half the cost). But they were kind and professional and said no, don't worry about it, we don't want to take money for something that wasn't ultimately bought.

So, in their desire to not lose $34 for the samosas from me, 779 lost a repeat customer forever. I'll be only going to 1320 from now on, and will leave a positive review there.

The new owner is so rude. The guy on the counter doesn’t know how to deal with customer. The quality of food they used to serve used to be excellent and fresh with the old owner. Now the quality of food went down. The old men who cooks the food is only polite one. Grocery price is also so high compare to old owner and other Indian groceries store.I don’t recommend this place anymore.

I went for the first time to this day Indian Market. They have a wide variety of produce, refrigerated items, and other things. Produce I have never seen 🤨 but interesting. Bought some sweets for my Doctor as a thank you for taking good care of my health. The owner I spoke with was very polite, caring, and helpful. Definitely would go again!

Food is not good not healthy they were sold old dated and frozen bhatura yesterday I was coming here with my friend so we order bhatura it was not good and smell so dirty look likes rippen foods I was waste all money we order some Indian sweets It’s also not good we also complaint to the owner but it’s not give any kind of response

The new owner lady is tricky and smooth in her words. She knows how to lure a customer and run the business.
Beware of the added costs to your groceries!

They got the best yogurt cookies and cream ever. They got these sweets made from Milk and spice delicious. . As for the food the lentils are good the Garlic Naan needs more garlic and less burnt. They carry lots of spices but no Gee which seems strange. They got lots of trinkets too.
