I recently went through the entire process of buying my first home, and I really didn’t know what to expect from a real estate agent. I heard some bad stories from some friends about the different parts of the process, but I could not be happier with my choice to choose Spencer Ruskin to help me through this experience. In short, he was great! From the beginning, he walked me through everything I needed to know at every step. Since I was completely new to this, he spent the time explaining everything and answering all my questions. He saw that I was very detail oriented and sat me down to go through all the paperwork I would see in an offer weeks before I ended up making my first offer. It made me much more comfortable signing the document because we had gone through the huge stack of papers before and he explained what they all meant.
Once we were ready to start searching for a place, Spencer was great at listening to and remembering all my requirements and requests. He always pushed me to not settle on something and reassured me that my dream home (at my price range) would appear. He found and suggested properties and listened to my feedback. More importantly, when I found properties that I was interested in, he followed up and did his due diligence. When we went to see the properties, he always came prepared having done research on the area, the property itself, and talked to the seller’s agent about the house. He was always very professional. Spencer was also very honest about his thoughts about the condos when I asked him and gave valuable insights that as a first-time homebuyer, I really appreciated. During our search, he was always patient; willing to see as many properties as it took to find the right place.
During the offer process, Spencer’s experience was invaluable during negotiations, and his expertise helped us have an offer accepted that exceeded my expectations. He made the escrow process very easy and quicker than I imagined.

Spencer Ruskin is the best realtor in LA! He has been the most professional, courteous and kind person to work with. He has been mindful of our needs at every stage and has provided his local knowledge in the areas where we were looking, namely Woodland Hills and along the 101 corridor. We are from the UK and when we arrived, he took us under his wing. He gave us guided tours around these areas, not just to show us properties but making sure we knew where to shop, eat out and get a good coffee. We fully intended to buy a house here but our circumstances changed. He did however help us move in to a rental property and was extremely helpful with the contract and setting up the utilities.
