Awesome climbing shop in an awesome mountain town. Had a great chat with the staff (Benjamin I believe but I'm terrible with names) and he was kind enough to break out some guide books and give me some recommendations on routes up both Suicide and Tahquitz.

Knowledgeable and helpful and friendly, gotta love places like this they are rare!

This is the kind of outdoor gear store that every town should have, but is unfortunate all too rare—Idyllwild is very lucky to have Nomad Ventures to keep them supplied. They have an excellent selection of shoes, packs, and all other gear to serve PCT thru-hikers, climbers, and everyone else enjoying the outdoors in their own way. The prices are super reasonable, and the hours are convenient. Ben was extremely helpful in recommending some trail running shoes, getting me outfitted, and giving tips about local trails. It was a busy time when I was shopping and he was super friendly with everyone, making sure they got what they needed whatever their activity.

You can also buy your Adventure Pass here to park at trailheads. Make this your first stop when you are scoping out adventures in Idyllwild—I will definitely be back!

This is one of the best local shops. It has a selection of gear catered to the hikes and climbs in town so if you forget a piece or need to upgrade it's there.

This is NOT a spot to grab a cheap tent or sleeping bag. This is a real gear shop of high-end tools for hiking, climbing, mountaineering, and more.

The staff is super knowledgeable not only of the gear but also the local trails and climbs. Julie, the manager, is awesome.

Nomad Ventures is one of the last great independent climbing shops. It's a tiny footprint, but they pack a lot of items in there, and there's always something that I can't live without. The selection is surprisingly broad, and the pricing is spot-on. If you're into climbing, mountaineering, hiking, backpacking, or adventure sports, stop here when you're in Idyllwild. You won't be disappointed.

Great people and very helpful just expect to pay a little more since getting supplies up the mountain costs so please don't complain it's not their fault at least they most likely have what you need
