Drive up from Palm Springs to Idyllwild for a day trip. I stopped in here while on the Palms to Pines seven drive.

There was live music and what looked like a good selection of wine for those who imbibe.

I had a delicious Stout and started with a smoked salmon appetizer and high consisted of some deliciously soft bread, cream cheese, capers, sliced tomatoes and onions.

I got the BLT sandwich which was a three layer half sandwich with plenty of thin cut bacon, tomatoes, lettuce and Mayo. It also included a portion of potato salad and a slice of honeydew melon.

Please t surprise to see somewhat rational portions. I wish more places limited the good offers to these sizes.

Updating my review as I sit outside staring at the patio. First nowhere does it say I have to order food to get a drink... Ok sure I'll bite but then to be upset with me because I didn't order a full dinner? The service was atrocious. The owner scowls at you if she doesn't like your answers. Frankly Leanna, this isn't the business for you if you can't be respectful.

On top of it all, the worst part of it? Being lied to. I wanted to buy a bottle and you told me you were out. Yet I went inside and took pictures of the bottles I asked for. You just didn't want us to stay or something. Seriously, it's not like it was bursting at the seams. I still count 5 empty tables outside.

Next time treat your customers with respect instead of looking down on them.

A wine shop with a great beer selection. I can always find a handful of beers I've never had. Staff is nice and generally knowledgeable. Food is about what you'd expect for a wine bar. Large variety of wine also.

It’s decent enough but we just dropped over $75 with tip for one sandwich and two mulled wines that are like 4oz big if that. It says the sandwich comes with a side of potatoes and salad. We didn’t get a salad and the side of potatoes is literally in one of those tiny cups for sauces. The sandwich is on regular toast with just 3 slices of meat for $30. Obscenely expensive even for a mountain town. It’s not even this bad in mammoth. We bolted from this town after this meal and went to the desert. Never again.

Swung by after a weekend of camping in Idyllwild with a group of 9 people. Beautiful day, seated outside listening to some good local live tunes. The server was incredibly nice and friendly. However, the food - not considering the cost - was something to be desired. Now take into account the cost and we have 3/5 stars.

Outside - 4/5
You really can't complain with how close the wilderness is. Air was fresh, sun was bright, and air quality was great. Plenty of seating, of which the server accommodated such a large group with 3 small patio tables. My only gripe was while the red umbrellas looked good on the outside, the material was incredibly bright underneath, almost as if we were under a red light filter.

Food - 2/5
This day we got a charcuterie board, a handful of sandwiches, couple salads, and sangria. IF the food was about half the price, then maybe I'd give the food 4/5. The mediocrity and portion sizes combined with the price was rather disappointing. So much so I forget exactly which dishes we got.

Overall - 3/5
- Outside: great patio seating; under the umbrellas felt like being under a red filter. The live music made up for my uncomfortable vision
- Food: not memorable, small portions and overpriced

My friends and I came to idyllwild for a birthday trip from San Diego. One of my friends asked about the wine tasting and another was deciding on a beer, to which our waitress raised her voice saying “I don’t have all day, I have 5 tables inside.” After yelling, she walked away before 3 of us had a chance to place an order. She had our group of 10 split into 2 tables but put us all on one check, which resulted in 23% auto gratuity. Considering how unbelievably rude she was to us, we never would’ve tipped this quantity and it felt like our hand was forced because she wouldn’t let us do 2 separate checks for our tables. We weren’t notified of the auto gratuity, otherwise we would’ve fought a little harder to get it split up. As someone who used to work as a waitress I empathize with restaurants being busy but I’ve never been blatantly disrespectful to customers. We come to Idyllwild regularly but will be sure not to return to this establishment in the future. The food was nothing to write home about, particularly the $30 charcuterie board that had 6 crackers on it.

Patio was peaceful but service was terrible. Owner notified us after we received our drinks that we had to order food and seemed frustrated when we were hesitant to order from the dinner menu at 1pm. Drinks were WAY over priced and vibes were ruined with the owner. 4 drinks + obligatory baked Brie = $100
