Cute little dog-friendly cabin in the mountains! I expected a little nicer accommodations for the price, though. There were not enough towels or blankets, and the bed and pillows were super old/uncomfortable—we had trouble sleeping most nights. No coffee, either, which was a bummer. If you’re looking to work within a budget, there are other places that have more bang for your buck in the area.

Hello! We had the pleasure of staying in the Bird Song cabin in Idyllwild just prior to the Xmas holiday. My wife and I wanted a quiet getaway to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we found perfect spot to do so. The cabin was easy to book and the host was very accommodating to our special needs. The cabin is well equipped and private… especially including the hot tub on the outdoor patio. The cabin is a short drive away from the town center where you can enjoy all that this cozy mountain town offers. We recommend this space to anyone. Enjoy your future stay.

We use Idyllwild Vacation Cabins every year as they have the most dog friendly options for our family and the most cost effective options for our circumstances. The cabins themselves have not been an issue, however the customer service has always been so so. Since we have not had major issues we have used them year after year. We do wish that communication was easier. Our first year we asked what the protocol was for snow shoveling and were told to do it ourselves or they would help us on the last day for check out, this does not help when one wants to go in and out of town during their stay. We also had a member contact the cabin when we did not receive an address our first year and received attitude in response that there were too many cabins for her to provide the address to her. This past year there was an issue with our original reservation and I was not informed that the host upgraded us to a new cabin until I was overcharged and had to reach out. I emailed multiple times before calling and was told we were moved to a new cabin and would be refunded. This would be nice, but the cabin we were reassigned to did not meet our family needs so we ended up with a cabin that was suitable but not as nice as the one we really wanted. The concerning part was we were not informed and reserved our cabin almost 4-5 months in advance. If I had not reached out, we would not have known about the upgrade and would have been unable to stay in the cabin we were reassigned to. We hope that next year we can have the cabin we truly love.

The cabin was clean and comfortable, temperature wise, when we arrived. We’ve had cabin rentals where the thermostat is off upon arrival and it takes hours to make things comfortable. We found the location to be perfect, but if you like to walk to town you might consider a different rental. Hot tub worked great and was super clean. The washer and dryer in the basement are new and a bonus with hiking clothes getting dirtier than expected.

The treehouse cabin is absolutely beautiful. Idyllwild Vacation Cabins and the owners of the cabin anticipated all of our needs and we had a wonderful stay. My one slight complaint is that the beds are a little hard. An easy fix would be putting a pillow top on top of the mattresses. Otherwise, everything was absolutely magnificent.

This cabin was lovely with plenty of space for the 5 of us. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and the jacuzzi was great! The fenced in yard was perfect for our dog to run around and explore.

Overall Rock to Rick cabin was good. Here is a checklist of items that need attentions: smoke alarm near kitchen is not apparent and broken, the bath tub in master bath has a leak and cannot hold water too long, wooden decking (safety hazard) seems to be falling apart on 1st floor and brackets are loose, back sliding door does not lock with the door knob (may need replacement of door knob, a few pans will need to be replaced as they have food debris that cannot be taken off, and lastly, the door to hallway bathroom next to the front door needs to be realigned back on to the rollers (may need new rollers and replace old). Loved theocratic and house never less and will return soon!

Martha helped find us a different rental as there was an issue with my original choice. Excel was so neat and clean! It had everything we could need for a few nights in Idyllwild. The dogs were very happy with the fenced yard. The walk into town was pretty quick, coming back was a little more uphill but only for me who lives at sea level.
I would stay here again and recommend it highly.
