It's a clean lake. No garbage laying around. Only thing I didn't like is fishing from shore is limited on where you can park or even walk to. Seems like the only way to get to explore the lake is by boat. When water level is lower it's super hard to fish off the shore it's steep and rocky. No flats spot. Other than that. I would fish here again.

First time here and kid enjoyed this place we will be coming back for sure! They have a nice place to eat with live music l, ice cream and place to buy items. We had fun swimming in the lake. Nice morning hikes/walks lots.of shade sites. We had site 107 but was able to swith to site 69. Wouldn't recommend 107 its not as close to the swimming area as shown on the map, you have to go down a slight slope not ideal for campers. Now site 69 was cool good size corner lot with some shade. If you want the BEST spot get 93 awesome view to the lake and all shades area.

Place was great,Great View, Nice Campsites, Staff were awesome.
bathroom situation just needs improvement.
Suggestions are more stalls (one stall in the mens is not enough) trashbins for tissues in each stalls cause it might be the cause blockage problems.

Lake Amador is easy to get to and not very far from town.
Camping and fishing available. No swimming, but nobody seems to care and people swim all over the place. Makes it hard to fish when people are disrespectful. They do have a swim pond, separately ,with a water slide.
Shoreline is pretty steep in most places but does have a day use spot that is more flat and accessible.
You can fish or hang out pretty much anywhere, except camp site side, unless you're camping.
Store has a bar and restaurant.
It's a fishing lake, but people come up here thinking is a good time to party and swim... Day use isn't very big not super accessible...

Great camping spot! Friendly staff and pretty quite and chill. I like it more and more every time I come up here. There is a swimming hole that is well maintained with a waterslide and a cool little park for the kids to play. They also have a frisby golf course and from what I hear some great fishing too. There is a town about 20min away with a Walmart, grocery stores, bowling etc. I would recommend always calling as far in advance as you can to reserve a spot. #89,90,92 are three great spots!

Been going here for years! Good spot to relax and possibly catch a huge stocker trout, also lots of good fishing opportunities on lunker bass, crappie, and catfish. Campsites are pretty basic with limited electrical hookup sites. Need to fix some things up but overall still pretty good. Be aware during the week the store and gate close at 7:00 pm. If you leave you are not getting back in. Bring your supplies, come prepared!

We had a blast camping here. Tons of great campsites. We fished off the bank of our campsite. They have a swimming pond for the kids, a yummy cafe, and great service. Definitely a great place to fish. I caught two 3 pound monster Bass. They have trophy trout, catfish, bluegill and carp fish. Go camp here fun place for the whole family.

We reserved two spots for the holiday weekend Friday through Monday. Sadly 😥 half our party left Saturday and we left Sunday, the noise was too much at 2am. Turns out if you know the office folk you are not required to be courtesy- or keep the noise down after 10pm. For those with families or hoping to wake before the sun and go fishing 🎣 this was an issue. That aside because it was out of our control - I would highly recommend. Gorgeous nature trails 👣. Calm lake great for kayaking, fishing 🎣 and paddle boarding. There is a playground as well as a swim 🏊‍♀️ area. No lifeguard. Bathrooms with plumbing lol and showers 🚿 are available. There are 🏕 campsites for about any type of camping with water and electric at some. Campsites are large and easily accommodate multiple tents. Note there is a charge for every car 🚗 for each night as well as a charge per kayak/board. You can rent fishing boats as well as obtain Fishing permits, firewood, other necessities when you check in at the front lodge. Which also has a cafe on site.
