American Eagle has a great selection of jeans and shirts, etc. my kids like to jeans and the pull overs. They say they are very comfortable and soft. I think the styles are for the younger crowd

I visited this store on May 17th between 8:00 PM - 8:30 PM to return a top I had ordered online. While at the register I decided to grab a pair of socks and a jewelry set and gave it to the cashier who did an exchange that left me with a remaining balance of about $1.80. The cashier, who was not very nice asked me for the original card used to purchase the shirt but I did not have it on me. When I told her I did not have it on me she responds by saying she cannot give me the money back unless I have the original card. I tell her that technically she can give me cash back since her only other option would have been to give me store credit. American Eagle does not issue store credit for anything under $10 and by law in the state of CA Effective since January 1, 2008, any gift card with a cash value of less than $10 is redeemable in cash. The guy next to her reaches over in a very condescending tone and in front of the other customers says to me, "we will do it this one time but we will not do it again". I said, you technically have to give me the cash I know this because I have worked at American Eagle before. The girl cashier who was helping me out then takes out the $1.80 and slams it on the counter. It was clearly noticeable that she was annoyed and mad. She embarrassed me in front of the customer as if I am trying to fraud them out of $1.80. I have been shopping at this location since it opened up. I have been an American Eagle Customer since high school, I am now 32 years old. When I first heard that American Eagle was opening up at the Irvine Spectrum I was ecstatic. The sad truth is that my experience at this location has been less than ecstatic. I don't feel noticed while shopping at this store. If I am holding a lot of clothes in my hands no one offers help grabbing a size or starting a fitting room even though they are right next to me. Cashier's barely say anything or smile. Maybe times have changed but I remember American Eagle was one of the best when it came to customer service. I used to compare their services to Nordstrom if not better. This experience really got me, I cannot stop thinking about it. I don't know if I can ever come back to this location.

My daughter did not want to go to the store and purchase these two items, so she ordered them online. The store got these two items ready, and someone picked them up and delivered them to our home last night. And she found out that the store forgot to take the security tags off. So my daughter is on her way to the store right, the one thing she wanted to avoid. It is hilarious! Things do happen, and mistakes are made. Just make sure it does not happen again. I wonder how the delivery guy left the store...

Candace and Nathan!!!! These two are awesome! Candace was great at helping me find the perfect jeans - never shopped here before but I’ll be back because of her. She was patient and understanding of what i was looking for. Nathan helped me at check out and was super friendly and explained the store policies to me clearly which is HUGE FOR ME. Cristian seemed to be the manager in duty and was super helpful and polite as well!!!

I love this brand and their designs, but the staff at the Irvine Spectrum store completely ruined the experience. Within 5 minutes of walking in, one of the staff glared and quickly walked past & knocked into me. No greeting or acknowledgment at all. I was astounded, but just thought maybe she was having a bad day and continued shopping. As I was going through their underwear collection, the staff and her coworker loudly gossiped beside me. I later checked out with the same staff member and she had the nastiest attitude.

Super unprofessional.

I was here today around 3:15pm a girl checked me out at the register. As I was walking up she was literally talking on the phone with her friend while she was working then sounded annoyed and told her friend she’d call them back so unprofessional. Then she proceeded to be rude the whole time she was checking me out and was very impatient and I felt like I was being rushed so she could go call her friend back when she shouldn’t be on her phone in the first place. Made me really uncomfortable and I just wanted to leave. Added my receipt below so you can see who it was to avoid this from happening to other customers in the future.

The clothes are of good quality and the store interior is very nice, but unfortunately, due to the customer service, I will be taking my business elsewhere next time I am in Irvine Spectrum. I normally don’t care about customer service too much but this experience was very unpleasant. I was making a return and the cashier who was working was unfriendly, didn’t speak audibly and looked very exasperated when I asked her to repeat what she said because I couldn’t hear her. I felt like her little sister whom she held a grudge against. Her manner was condescending and unprofessional, and while I understand if she was new and didn’t know how to properly handle a return, she could have at least had a somewhat friendly demeanor during the process. While scanning my items she was chatting with another cashier and customer who appeared to be her friend. I see a majority of negative reviews concern subpar customer service, so maybe Aerie should look into better training, management of staff or hiring people who will not deter customers from returning.

Review is for the store and some of the store policies, not the brand or clothes. First of all, if you plan to return your online purchases - keep in mind, that AE and Aerie are returned separately, and you would need to go next door to return Aerie. The second thing is that they don't return to card without physically presenting the card (while most of stores currently do). The third part is that there are no clear instructions on how returns should be made - they asked me to get the returns out of the plastic bags, self-scan codes and put clothes in special bins. While I do appreciate the well thought process to protect the employees - the store assistant told me that there is nowhere to throw away plastic bags and I need to take them with myself. Not a 5* experience.
