I’ve been shopping here since they opened and I can’t say enough good things about Coal and Sea Life. The entire staff is incredibly knowledgeable and patient. Not once did I feel I didn’t get the time or energy to help explain different wildlife or problems with my tank which means the world to me as I enjoy shopping for my tank and they always make sure it stays that way. Most importantly they have never tried to sell me on an organism that may not be a good fit for my tank. This shows they truly care about their wildlife and their customers.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience shopping at this store. I had bought three Celestial Pearl danios from them and put them in my fish tank after drip acclimating then for over an hour. Within 3 days all of the fish had died. And once they were in my tank under my bright lighting I was able to see how sickly and deformed they actually were. This was not noticeable in the store under their extremely dim lighting. One of the fish literally had a curved spine. I am extremely disappointed because I have been trying to get this specific fish for months and no one seems to keep them in stock or be able to order them. I finally found a store that had them only to find out they are selling sickly and inbred fish that die shortly after putting them in your tank.

I’ve visited a few times now and am still impressed when I come in. This is definitely the best fish/aquarium store in the area in my book. They seem to have appropriate care for the fish and plenty of options in stock! The tanks are always clean and I am particularly a big fan of their aquarium plant selection. Also, staff is very helpful and informative.

I didn't personally buy anything but, the place has some really corals, freshwater and saltwater fish. Couple orlf really nice displays to. I would say this is a must see fish store. Oh, and the owner was super nice and knowledgeable.

While Sea Life Fish & Aquariums boasts a fairly decent selection of saltwater fish and corals, the lack of customer service was a major letdown. We visited the store expecting knowledgeable and helpful staff, but unfortunately, we were met with indifference.
The store's limited freshwater fish selection and aquatic plants were disappointing, especially considering the growing popularity of freshwater aquariums. Additionally, the lack of greeting or assistance from the staff made the shopping experience unpleasant.
We ultimately decided to visit another store down the road, which offered a superior experience in every aspect. If you're an aquarium hobbyist in St. Petersburg, I would recommend exploring other options before visiting Sea Life Fish & Aquariums.

This place was absolutely incredible! No doubt the best aquarium in the Tampa Bay area. Coal and his wife are super friendly and really smart about corals and fish. They tell you the truth and their prices are unbeatable in the area. I can’t tell you how impressed I was with their service and the store. There are several great coral and saltwater fish aquariums in the area, but this one really is the best. We will definitely make the long drive to them. Even though they are further away than many of the other stores from my home, it is absolutely worth the trip. I can’t see up great things about this place. It was my first time going, it definitely won’t be my last. They were also really patient as my wife and son were looking over all of the different types of fish and coral.
