no doubt the best clam chowder I have ever had- and the split pea was equally impressive//amazing!! the shrimp cocktail was so fresh and came on a little bed of greens//veggies and it was the perfect balance! real, high quality ingredients that you can taste and great portion sizes too! the owner must be the magic maker and she is so sweet! i think this is the first food review i have ever left, i had to give the proper praise! the whole market is filled with imported ingredients, treats, and treasures! definitely do not skip this one!

While I love the selection of products and fresh seafood, I’m really bothered by the lack of integrity for their hot food offerings the menu. The menu clearly says “bacon & gluten free” above its list of 3 soups, 2 seafood chowders and a split pea. I ordered a cup of split pea to go, got home and 1/3rd of the way through eating I realize the soup is full of meat and I’m now in great discomfort. I hope they are able to clarify the menu to indicate that the split pea soup is NOT meat free.

Fantastic little store with mostly Dutch imports.
It's a bit on the expensive side but love the variety of products we can buy here...the kind of daily staples that we used to buy when we lived in The Netherlands but can't find here anywhere in our neck of the woods.
We'll come back here for sure!

THE BEST clam chowder ever. My husband goes up and down the streets in Astoria telling people how delicious it is! He’s a chowder snob and we’ve gone to many places trying the clam chowder and nothing compares to this. Really, go to this wonderful store that has so many other wonderful yummy things besides chowder on the menu AND tons of other hard to find items in the store. You won’t regret going to this gem of a place. Also, friendly, helpful owners make this a destination for us! Oh, and if you like licorice, this is the place to try a sample or two of all kinds. So, if you see a crazy guy walking around Astoria excited about the chowder, say HI!

Fabulous little market with fun Scandinavian treats, plus fresh seafood. The clam chowder is outstanding and it's bacon and gluten-free. The lady who runs the market/shop is lovely. Support local, and check out this wonderful little gem.
