What a wonderful fly shop, filled with knowledgeable and great guides. We have had Sequioa as our guide twice and she is an excellent teacher not just of fly fishing but also how to care for the fish and fishing environment. Excellent service

I recently had the pleasure of going on a 3-day guided fishing trip with Steve Erickson as our guide and Tonn as the bagger, and it was truly the experience of a lifetime. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations! Steve's knowledge and expertise made the trip not only educational but so much fun. He knew all the best spots and was patient as we learned new techniques along the way. Each stop on our journey was beautiful, offering moments of awe and excitement.

Now let’s talk about the food – it was OUTSTANDING! Tonn’s meals were hands-down some of the best I’ve had on a camping trip. Every time we arrived at camp, everything was set up perfectly, and we were treated to incredible meals that hit the spot after long days on the water. The campsites were also top-notch, offering comfort and a sense of home in the wild.

I am beyond grateful for this trip and for everything I learned. Steve and Tonn made it special, and I’ll cherish the memories forever. I would HIGHLY recommend booking a trip with The Fly Fishers Place – this is the kind of adventure you won’t want to miss!

Matthias was incredibly helpful and friendly. I’m fairly novice when it comes to the intricacies of fly fishing and he definitely helped me get set up for success. Hooked me up with some flys that he would be fishing on the Metolius and just generally made my time at the Fly Fishers Place pleasant. I would highly recommend this spot for anything you need when it comes to fly fishing.

Crooked River with Sequoia was amazing. She’s a fantastic guide - understands the river, fish, and of course fly fishing. Patient and encouraging!!! Great day! (Except for the fish 😉).

Went on a guided trip with Michael D for my dads 80th birthday. We both had extremely limited fly fishing experience but I left with the confidence that this hobby is within my reach! Stopped in the shop the day before to size and pick up our waders and boots and it was a seamless experience, and of course left with some hats and shirts. I will definitely be going back when I’m in the area.

Excellent shop and guide service! We spent the day with Steve E. on Paulina lake and had a great trip. He is skilled, knowledgeable, and very patient (we tested this by wrapping a leader around his trolling motor). He retained his good humor throughout, and put us into some very nice fish. We lost count of the average fish, and both clients had 4 fish on that were in the 20inch class, and we each landed two of those. We highly recommend these guys.

My son and I took a walk and wade charter with guide Sequoia from the Fly Fishers Place last week. We fished the Crooked River and had a fantastic time. We were interested in learning Euro Nymphing techniques, and she did not disappoint! We had a great trip and caught lots of trout in numerous places along the river. Beautiful scenery, great fishing, and a great guide! Highly recommended.
