From the time i walked into this store, down every aisle, stopped to admire an incredible natural leather overnight bag, to the new ice chests with the water bottle suspended under the inner tray , past managers and an overabundance of sales-people, all around the clothes, to the entire back wall of shoes, some of which i would have liked to try on especially the Born sliders, to the fishing supplies, down the wall of backpacks, which i really need for my trip, across to a basket of GIANT squeaky chickens that had no price (but i just found on Amazon for $49),to the great selection of insulated cups…….not one person spoke to me nor even looked at me.
I checked my zipper. I checked myself in the mirror to make sure i didn’t have a booger hanger. I looked out the door to my olive green Subaru Outback, freshly washed and ready for a road trip. …glance back at my reflection in the door….admittedly, i could stand to lose 40 pounds. Was that what it was?
I was so excited for Wood’s Trading Company to open up in my neighborhood in Gardendale. Mainly because i don’t want to drive to birmingham and i spend a stupid amount of money at REI, however, i will not shop at a store where i am ignored. I would rather have had them tell me “This store is VERY expensive. Please leave.” and i could have come back with a bunch of Osprey backpacks and said “Big mistake”.

I’m a fair fella, and will probably give them another chance. Their presence makes my community look good. I will update on my next trip.

Amazing selection of fishing gear! More than Walmart with same prices and more organized than Bass Pro Shop! They have stuff I guarantee you haven’t found anywhere else!

Woods Trading Company is such an amazing store and is just what Gardendale needed! Run by the sweetest family and staff, you feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door! Great selection of name brand clothing and shoes! Also a great fishing department with tons of amazing products! Great place to buy gifts for family and friends!

Super friendly staff and a great store with all the latest products-Especially the fishing department. They have high end tackle and baits at competitive pricing. Preston has done a great job setting up the department. Go see him today!

I love Wood’s Trading Company and all it encompasses! From the selection of bibles to their apparel to their fishing section, they truly have all you need! Not to mention - they are a small business that gives back to the community of Gardendale and hosts weekly events. A one stop shop and opening just in time for the holiday season. I will be getting ALL of my gifts from here!

A store like this is what Gardendale needed. Woods simply offers the best when it comes to my love for the outdoors. Anything from fishing, to shoes, and their wide variety of clothing they have it all. The staff is very friendly and very helpful and welcome you with a smile on their face!

Woods Trading Company is such a wonderful place. If you haven’t been there, YOU NEED TO GO and see it for yourself. They have amazing brands, so many choices when looking for clothing, shoes, gifts, sunglasses, water bottles galore, unique sporting items like pickleball, hiking, and fishing! I 💙 the wall of coolers and other great camping gear! I will go every chance I get!

What a great addition to Gardendale! I loved the little car buggies for my kids! It made it so much easier for my wife and I to shop with them preoccupied. The buggies along with the nice and friendly staff have made this my go-to store for any clothing and shoes. 10/10
