I went to see what I could find. I was looking at the sheets and an old lady came in. She was looking for a blanket because she was cold at night. The lady told me that she didn't have any family and was having some difficulties with money. I went to tell an employee if there was any way that they could lower the price of a blanket that cost like $25. I asked her if they could lower it for $10. Her response was that she couldn't, that was the price and I told her why they made things so expensive if the things are donations that people make. Even with an arrogant manner, they should teach their employees to have a little kindness and be more empathetic. What a disappointment. This was in Goleta California

I showed up 5 minutes before they were closing. Far from home, desperately needing a pair of comfortable shoes, I begged the associate closing up shop to let me in. She hesitated and then looked away. I was able to pick out a brand new pair of boots from their huge selection of women's footwear and was the last person to check out so I didn't see much of anything else.

Very disappointed in the ridiculous “store policy” today. I was told I couldn’t purchase an item since it wasn’t priced. Even though it was on the floor and clearly being marketed for standard sale(!) note, it was a small child’s toy that my son so patiently carried around with him to purchase. There were 3 associates at the check out explaining that “non-priced items need to be sent back downtown for pricing and then brought back to Goleta”, such BS! They literally couldn’t take the time to price match for 30 seconds, as opposed to arguing with me for 3 minutes and taking a toy away from a child. Just straight lying from employees and overall dumb policy. Don’t waste your money here, things are overpriced anyways for second hand. Family Thrift in Magnolia Center is much better.

I really liked this thrift store. It’s well organized by categories, the clothing is by size and color & it was clean. First time I went in was a Sunday & I will be back! I found some great items. Prices are great. I got a baby gate for $10 and a sweater for $10.

There are some good finds. Lots of designer finds and full vintage porcelain dishware sets. What upset me is the amount of fast fashion & SHEIN that was being sold at a higher price than if you were to buy it new. I saw some shows had electronic tags to prevent theft , but they left designer shoes (the brand sells new for around $400), with no electronic tags being sold for $13. I got 2 designer western wear belts for $15 total - I easily saved over $100 compared to online reseller prices. So it seems like while there is higher quality finds at this store, the workers have 0 idea on how to correctly price product. The clothes and shoes are also poorly categorized, at times the shoes especially felt randomly placed throughout the store, which makes this an extremely overwhelming shopping experience for people who are not avid thrifters. Do not drag your husband or boyfriend here unless they are also passionate about thrifting. As an avid thrifter myself, you have the potential to get an absolute steal here or get completely ripped off, which is why I give Alpha Thrift Store 3 stars.

Some things are a bit overpriced, but their diverse selection and great organization makes up for it. Hope to come back again some day.

I have been an avid shopper here over the years. However lately the prices are above retail. Worse, they seem to have lost their tax exempt status, because they now charge sales tax. Yesterday I found ($180 new) Yamaha Guitar marked for $200 with visible blemishes. I will not likely to be shopping here ever again. More likely, I will just go to ROSS and get a new item that does not smell like feet.

Do not support shady criminal enterprises. Buy new and don’t waste your time struggling for parking. It should be criminal to open a business with limited parking in this town, have some decency!

This is the most expensive thrift store I have ever been to! Should be ashamed to call this a "thrift store"
