Brisket. Sandwich.
Can I get away with a two-word review? Nah.
I've eaten their Q twice and, fault me if you like, I've had the brisket sandwich both times. It's huge (a pound, maybe more, I'll say) and perfect on what has to be a homemade bun. The brisket is melt-in-your-mouth tender and smoky as all get-out. The bun is fluffy for a while, but it quickly succumbs to the brisket's juiciness. Once you set it down - if you can - you'd better have a fork handy. I ate my first one unsauced and tried the hot BBQ sauce on the second. It really doesn't need any, but the heat was nice. The sides are only OK, for now. The mac 'n' cheese was pretty good, but the okra and potato salad were not as good as you can elsewhere. Is that a complaint? Not really. After eating that sammich who has need for anything else? 😁

We tried the brisket, sausage, pulled pork, and chicken. Every single thing was absolutely delicious. The pulled pork sandwich was big enough for me to eat for two meals! Absolutely amazing food

I have been passing by this little place for awhile now, and it tortured me with the great smell of smoked Bar-b-que. Well, I finally got to try it and MAN was it worth every single penny! Im normally really picky with my bar-b-que, but the food is SO tender, has a great flavor, and they are generous with the portions. I will definitely eat there again.

Now, in Oklahoma, you know it's going to be good BBQ when you drive up to the gravel parking lot, and smoke is rolling from the smoker across the property. Wooden wire spools are tables--no inside dining. So far, we are batting 1000.

So the next checklist item: is any part of the menu handwritten .

Yes! Winner Winner BBQ Dinner!

So, I got the brisket and the homemade smoked sausage, baked beans, and coleslaw. Oh, and candied bacon. (More on that in a minute.)

The brisket was tender, great flavor, and smoked to perfection. No utensils were needed. Great even without the sauce...but the sauce (hot sauce has great zing to it) kicked it up a notch.

The sausage, though...wow. Casey makes it fresh, ground and prepped (then smoked) on site. Arguably the best smoked sausage I've had. If not the best, definitely in the top two. Seriously, it's that good.

As for sides, they were out of their World Famous Mac and Cheese, so I had the baked beans. I was pleasantly surprised, as they were more like "camp beans" than overly brown sugared beans...they really complemented the brisket. I only wish I had about half a loaf of wonder bread to go with it.

Now the coleslaw was unexpected. I'm not a slaw fan, because well, slaw is the Forrest Gump box of chocolates of BBQ sides. Is it sweet? Is it mushy? Is of finely chopped, are there pickles? You just never know what you're going to get. Well, this fresh cut, coarse cut, light slaw was great. It's probably not for everyone, but if you are one of those that like slaw on your chopped brisket sandwich, this is the condiment you have been searching for.

Oh...almost forgot the bacon. Mmm...bacon...

So if you ever thought "What I need for desert is bacon'" then this is for you. Candied bacon. Yes, Virgina, meat is on the dessert menu, and it is amazing. Bacon. It's not just for breakfast anymore.

Of course, when I found out there was one fresh from scratch cinnamon roll left, I had to have a second dessert. I'm glad I did. Be glad, too, and get the cinnamon roll. Thank me when you wake from your cinamon roll nap.

(BTW, portion sizes are very generous, so plan accordingly!)

Be sure and add Black Top BBQ to your list. They are at the corner of 29th and Harrah road, on 29th across from Harps. They open at 11, and there until 7--or they sell out, which is frequently, so plan to be there early.

Well I had an errand to run in the City of Harrah. Thank you Trendy Tees for helping us out.

So as I was saying I was in Harrah and I hadn’t had lunch yet so I decided to grab some Blacktop BBQ.

Yeah I think the last TOC review might have undersold them. This is some seriously seriously good BBQ. Oh and the Mac & Cheese really was quite good too.

We absolutely did a disservice to Blacktop BBQ by taking as long to get there as we did. Shoot maybe we did a disservice to ourselves by not getting this bbq sooner.

If you haven’t tried it yet, get out and try it. If you have tried it feel free to mock us for taking so long to try it.

And what is it with super good bbq going hand in hand with fantastic people.

Blacktop BBQ and Heavenlee BBQ fantastic bbq and fantastic owner/operators at both. Maybe that’s the key to truly great BBQ, awesome people making it.

I am addicted to this place. It is the best BBQ place I have had in a long time. Hearty size portion and everything always taste amazing. I live in the city and will come all the way out to Harrah just for this BBQ. Job well done!

My new favorite BBQ place in Oklahoma. Got the sliced brisket, and I can honestly say that it’s up there with some of the great brisket of central Texas. The mac n cheese was delicious, the baked beans tasted very fresh with just a touch of heat, and the potato salad was unique—the potatoes were somewhat crispy and the salad was extremely flavorful, making for an awesome texture and taste experience. Only drawback - I wish it were closer to where I lived!

Maybe the best bbq I’ve ever had. Definitely the best ribs, best hot bbq sauce, best brisket and best homemade hot rolls the size of large hamburger buns!
