This is a Hidden Gem! You can't miss visiting this Historical Landmark. The lady in charger, Barbara Cooper ir very knowledgeable. This is one of those towns which it's history is worth knowing, it's development was stopped by a big explosion in 1999. Back in the time, Brigdertom was considered to be the "New York" in Alabama. Stop by and take some time to see the display of the historical exhibits!

My husband and I visited the museum to further family research. The people at the museum were so very friendly and helpful! It was nice to just chat with them. There is a wealth of information in the museum and the presentation is nice. The trail walk is also beautiful. A lovely and informative way to spend an afternoon!

We were driving thru and happened up on this place. It was closed and a lady came out and ask if we would like to come in and take a look around. They were so sweet and very nice. We were so grateful for the time we got to spend there and for their generosity. I know these ladies were love their job.

Love history, was think about checking it out, since I am also a railroad buff. The link for it's website takes you to a Alabama political page. So looks like that they have had their link hijacked, closed or any other number of things. Since I have no way to check out place before visiting, will not make trip. May stop by if in area, since it has a lot of good reviews. But for now...

I love history.....any history, because I believe that human beings can learn from history. Who we are, where we have been and how we can conduct ourselves in the future. This museum is a small slice of that history. It is free (although they have a donation jar) and I made use of the chance to support the institution. If you like history, this is worth the investment of your time.

Great RR and local history center. They have a very nice Alco locomotive, caboose and a Fairmount RR service car. Also a train viewing platform. Current hours are Th / Fri 9-3, Sat 10-3, Sun 1-4. Also don't miss the walking bridge across the Tennessee River a short drive away.

My sister and I rented a cabin on Lake Guntersville and were exploring the area. We saw the depot on Google and came up on Sunday October 23, 2022 to check it out. IT WAS CLOSED!! We saw it on Google as being open Sunday 1-5. We were very disappointed.
