I lived in the area for a most of my childhood and my parents still live around here. This place has a lot of fun memories for me, but if you're coming from out of town and you need something, you probably should just visit Fred Meyers. This plaza isn't horrible by any means. The grocery store here (in all of its iterations) has always offered affordable groceries. The Dairy Queen is a favorite spot for children and teens to hang out after school and sporting events. Ace Hardware is where you can get that one part you're missing for a wood working project or home repair and it's not worth it to drive all the way to Home Depot.
The staff in each location is just there to work, typically teenagers who do a good enough job. Sometimes the staff at the Ace Hardware can be friendly, but they rarely seek out opportunities to assist you. I actually kind of like being left on my own given I know where everything in the store is at this point and I have typically been there to grab a single item. If you do need help, the people at the register have been there for years and would be happy to assist you. As of my last visit a few months ago, I recognized a cashier who has been there since I was in middle school.

At the end of the day, it's an okay place. Nothing particularly wrong with it, the three stars are due to it's limited functionality and there's just nothing there to make it a four or five star location. Definitely check out whichever grocery store is there now if you don't mind off brand stuff and want to save money. Shasta soda got me and my brother through some crazy hot summers and the off brand cheetos made us a little less hungry when we visited grandma and she made tongue stew or we got tired of eating bologna and cheese sandwiches.

The best shopping area in the county, atleast in Scappoose! Love the Ace Hardware and Grocery Outlet, while the Dairy Queen and Dutch Bros provide good treats!

Love almost all the businesses in Chinook Plaze. Grocery outlet has wonderful and helpful employees. Morgamor has any and everything you need for improving your gaming experience. Ace Hardware has NEVER let me down. Who doesn't love a blizzard after a Friday night game. Dutch Bros always has a smile and a hot cup of happiness. What used to be All About Mail, currently Postal Annex gets a thumbs down from me. New ownership has removed the homey old school feel of Chinook plaza and its just sad. We just continue using the service after mail and a package we're lost and nothing was done in a timely manner mail was no longer being sorted appropriately it appropriately just too much to keep going. Other than them rave eviews.

I use High School Pharmacy. The pharmacist (Jeannette) and her associates know all my needs so when something new comes up she is aware of it and will advise me of any problems or not. She also let's me know of any new and upcoming meds for migraines. She is awesome

Great neighborhood plaza. All About Mail & Gifts is a great business to have nearby. UPS shipping there is very handy to have in our small community.
