Nice, well run shop that has good selection and clear structure in place for customers and consignors. They give a discount if you pay CASH

Keep an eye out because it could be easy to miss from the road. Thankfully there is a light at the turn, be careful in the tight parking lot, note there are a few spaces behind the building too.

Keep in mind that the inventory is constantly changing...part of the fun of the hunt. They have clothing for women and children, shoes, purses, scarves, jewelry, and lots of housewares. There is a great rotating seasonal section if you are looking for gifts or fun holiday themed home decor.

Sometimes service can be a little slow so be sure to leave yourself plenty of time for checkout. It takes time to take off tags, add things up, etc. If you pay with cash or check you get a 5% discount.

Jane the owner has been running her business for a long time and I have enjoyed meeting her. Be sure to check out Country Dollar next door for fun, cheap jewelry, gifts, cards, and candy.

UPDATE - a month later after I dropped off my pair of shoes - I actually made a little bit of money and received a check for my portion!! AND she has a load of nice things that have come in, recently and her prices are really reasonable for such high quality goods! GIVE her a try -- I think you'll find just the right item you are looking for!! Clothing, shoes, housewares, furniture, etc.

Jane, the owner is unbelievably hostile to both customers and her employees, so it’s only a nice experience if she isn’t there. The other employees are absolutely sweethearts and very helpful. I can find at least one treasure every time I visit since they are always re-stocking new items. Jane’s extreme rudeness is not necessary though, and people should be aware before they go. It is utterly shocking how awful she speaks to people.

I very much enjoyed shopping at Consignments By Jane. This woman-owned business has been a fixture in Tallahassee since the early 1980s. The clothes are a significant upgrade from thrift, with a slight increase in price. Sale and clearance racks are a regular feature! I bought a wonderful party dress at 40% off. Fits perfectly. Definitely worth the trip. I look forward to returning.

Only second time hear the owner was very rude that I even walked in the door she didn’t speak or anything greet me as a customer she just said you bring your stuff in. Yes you have an account yes and then she said we’re not taking any summer stuff and she said like three times and I think me and I see it on the door I’ll take them some stuff out so they’re only taking four so then she said I needed on hangers your items on hangers I said why do you need a hanger if you just take the hanger off and give them back to the person because we want them to be wrinkle free I say ma’am everything I brought in here is wrinkle free is it type of clothing that you can use Barlow rollup and it falls right back the way it was so we kept going back-and-forth and back-and-forth and she literally out of you can only have 12 items out of 12. I don’t see only maybe 22 and that was two pair of shoes one Nike and one was a sandal tight that you could wear here row. I closed out my account because I live far from here. I just love doing consignment but I have to find one south of mayhem because this woman was so rude. I can’t believe it and her assistant co-owner just do this 🙂 like I’m sorry I’m sorry and she even came outside and it was looking at me and I told her thank you cause she was nice and she smiled but that other oh.

I have never had a business owner be so condescending and rude She is obviously not a happy sole. Her employee was very pleasant and kind. I won't be patronizing this small, local, business, unfortunately.
