As always, Cracker Barrel delivers. Great food and great service. I tried a new offering of shrimp and grits. It's absolutely awesome. The cajun sauce was just spicy enough. The grits and shrimp were cooked to perfection. Friend had the country boy breakfast.

I recently placed a to-go order from Cracker Barrel in Gardendale, and while the service was impressively swift and the hostess was quick to assist, the food quality and order accuracy were severely lacking.

My salad was prepared with bacon and cheese, despite specifically requesting otherwise. Additionally, no silverware or napkins were included, even though I had asked for them. The vegetables in my order were cold, and the bread was not provided correctly. I understand that mistakes happen, but when multiple issues arise in a single order, it clearly indicates a lack of attention to detail and customer satisfaction.

Cracker Barrel has always been known for its commitment to taking care of its customers, but this experience was far from that standard. What happened to the Gardendale location?

Food is usually very good. Usually a few minutes wait to be seated. Not because they are full. But waiting for the hostess to come back to her post. Usually have to wait an average of 5 minutes for someone to come take my to-go order.

If I could give a zero on service I would. We were seated quickly at 5:34 pm. It was several minutes before anyone came to our table. In the section we were seated, there were only two other tables that had people at them so it was NOT busy. Once we got our drinks, it was several more minutes before our order was taken. I ordered the grilled chicken salad with ranch and my husband ordered a side salad, bacon mac-n-cheese, and a loaded baked potato. One other table was seated in our area after us with a different waitress who received their full meals before we did. Our food came at 6:27. The waitress blamed the delay on people in the kitchen saying one thought the other was getting the salad mix and they thought the other one was. Nonetheless it was SALAD! No cooking needed. My husband got up at one point to see if anyone was working on our order and he heard our waitress ask if anyone was working on that loaded baked potato. Again we were seated at 5:34 and didn't get our food until 6:27. Our waitress had 3 tables. When we asked for a to-go box for the potato, we waited and waited. I finally got up and was taking the potato still on the plate to check out when the waitress comes running with the to-go box and another excuse that she was vertically challenged and had to wait for someone to reach it for her. Never mind the fact we watched you standing around talking in the kitchen. Our waitress had an excuse for every single thing. She was simply not good at her job.

My breakfast was cold, good, but served cold. My husband had meatloaf and it was great. So I averaged it out to only 3 stars.
Took forever to get our food, that could be why mine was cold. Server was very sweet.

We placed an order for curbside. Our food was supposed to be ready at 8:41. It was still not ready at 9:05. I noticed that everybody at curbside was getting out and going inside and coming back without their food. It wasn’t busy at all. There was only a few vehicles in the parking lot. My husband finally went inside at to see where our food is, and they said they forgot to bring it to us. Excuse me? It’s now ice cold, and we planned to park and eat. I’ll be calling corporate on Monday, and I won’t stop until somebody handles this.
