The area is a popular spot for whale watching, and visitors can often spot these magnificent creatures from the shore. The town itself is charming, with a variety of shops, restaurants, and accommodations to suit every taste and budget.

One of the highlights of Depoe Bay is the Depoe Bay Whale Watching Center, which offers interpretive displays, a video presentation, and a knowledgeable staff to help visitors learn more about the area's marine life. The center also provides binoculars for visitors to use while watching the whales from the observation deck.

King Tides are always amazing at Depoe Bay! The entire coast is amazing during King Tides, but Depoe Bay has those walls and those rocks for the waves to crash against......just breathtaking. Parking can be difficult to find, just be prepared that you may need to walk a little bit, but the views are so worth it!

We stopped.
Early in the morning, which is one of the better times to see Wells as well as at sunset, we saw 1 well blow its air out and then go back down to keep eating the carp. This is an awesome day. That's really beautiful and powerful to watch the water crash on the rocks. There's also a lot of parking and there's an observation room. On top of that , there is a large street with shops all the way down it Where you can get food , coffee or anything else.

It's a fantastic place. The Sea Hag, Gracie's is my favorite place to eat. Have clam chowder or an oyster shooter. Excellent bartender if necessary. Great shopping and wine shops, hobby store, but I always stop by for way too much salt water taffy!

Depoe Bay, or as the locals like to refer to it, "home," is (at least according to Google) a "tourist attraction." There are no rides or things like that, so don't get your hopes up for "Ocean: The Experience" or anything like that. Nope, you'll have to settle for looking at the (admittedly very pretty) scenery and eat at one of the 3 or 4 pretty swell restaraunts. It's easy to walk around, so that's a plus. And there are a couple mid-range, not Bates Hotels to stay at, if you are so inclined.

And, who knows, you might even see a whale.

Small town on the central Oregon coast, billed as the world's smallest natural harbor. Plenty of shops, food, bars, hotels. Known for fishing and whale watching excursions. Can also see Grey whales migrating twice a year from a guided checkpoint on the oceanfront. Good kid stop!

Small tight knit town located between Newport and Lincoln City next to Ocean. There is the expansive Sea Wall with lots of parking to view the crashing waves, sea lions, variety of birds, boats entering/exiting the harbor and when in season, excellent spot for whale watching. A lot of quaint, interesting shops across from sea wall and several restaurants with Freshly caught seafood ( not frozen ). We have been frequenting Depoe Bay for over 40 years and I can honestly say this town is very consistent on cleanliness, upkeep of their town and the restaurants. Love this area !

Tons of traffic, blah! But a cute place I like to visit. The bridge is also featured in the movie One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. I love harbors and fishing boats. And sometimes you are lucky enough to see the familial generations the their fresh catch of the day.
