Depoe Bay Scenic Viewpoint is an absolute must-see on the Oregon Coast! The views of the rugged coastline and the vast Pacific Ocean are simply breathtaking. This spot is famous for being the ‘Whale Watching Capital of the Oregon Coast,’ and it truly lives up to the name—I was lucky enough to see gray whales right from the viewpoint! The crashing waves, especially during high tide, make for a dramatic and mesmerizing sight. The area is well-maintained, with easy access to parking and nearby shops. Whether you’re a nature lover, photographer, or just passing through, this is a perfect place to stop, relax, and take in the beauty of the coast!

it's a very small section, just off the main road of 101. there's a cool whale statue at one end. there's a couple of pedestrian walkways and plenty of shops right across the street. it's a beautiful view of the coast and some of the rock formations. if you are lucky during will migration season, you will actually catch a sighting of a whale there. for the people that are gung-ho and willing to spend money, they can book a charter right across the street from this scenic area.

I definitely stopped and took some videos of the impressive waves coming through some of the rock formations there. there is a plaque with an explanation of why some of these holes and the rocks can be impressive.

Pretty cool. Nice views. You have quite a hike to your room so be prepared for that. Parking sucked. They need more signage to direct people to the correct building.

Love this part of Depoe Bay, lots of lovely little shops to go in out and find your hats, t-shirts and lovely nick-nacs enjoyed going in all the stores then crossing the street to watch the waves.

Beautiful views, but very windy! Definitely bring an extra jacket. We saw lots of seals and a bald eagle, and we were only there for a couple minutes!

Here you can visit the whale center and have a good chance of seeing the local whales spoting spouting. It was a good place to be during King Tides to watch the waves crashing over the rocks. I even saw a sea otter preening it self on the rock along the inlet to Depot Bay.

If there is parking available, this is a great place to stop for views of the Pacific. Great shops on the other side of the road as well. Can get very crowded, and there is limited parking.
