Great place to spend the day. Plenty of parking. Enjoyed lunch at a picnic table on the river. Just keep one eye on the geese and poop. Spent the afternoon hiking the trails. Just remember to bring water and sunblock.

Great place to camp by the river. They have ice and hot showers. Campfires are currently not allowed here. If you are a light sleeper, there is a train close by that runs throughout the night.

This is a very nice campground. There are pit pots or flushable toilets as well as showers. Camp ground is clean and there are some nice places to chill in the river. Family friendly definitely, the only thing I dont dig is how busy this place is. It is a very popular spot. Also, if you are here in the summer it is no campfire season, that was a bit of a bummer but overall a very nice place to get away!

Great location, very relaxed feel to the whole park. Parking was a little tricky in our spot but still accommodated our 24' trailer, space was paved and level which is a plus. Bathrooms were cleaned daily and showers were good. Lots of great areas to play all around the park. Train noise was loud, but not terrible. We'll definitely be staying again.

This was a really nice camp site, right on the Deschutes river. We were there on a Sunday in early May and if I thought it was that uncrowded all of the time I would give it 5 stars. You can fish and swim in the river with several easy access areas. Three trails head off from the camping area. At the beginning there is a strange solar contraption with a bench around it. Upon further inspection it has USB ports for charging devices! We thought the lower trail was fantastic as it meandered along the river. But we cut up to the top trail for the trek back and we're handsomely rewarded with fantastic views. Directly across the river is a day use area for launching boats, picnicking or just hanging out. Both the camping and day use areas have live-in hosts for a sense of security. Bonus, it is close to Multnomah falls.

We biked in about 13 miles along the upper trail before turning back. It's a great ride with a good workout attached. It's absolutely beautiful the whole way, but fighting the wind can be a bit much.

We did see several rattle snakes on the trail, so be mindful and don't hike/bike alone.

Great spot! There's good river access here, and the park rangers that work here are fantastically nice. The hosts are a bit on the grumpy side, but the park ranger more than makes up for it. The grounds appear well capped. While I stayed there, the guests were courteous and pleasant to be around. There are some great hiking trails nearby.

Hiked 13.3 miles yesterday 2/4/19 in the day long snowfall up the old railroad trail. Saddened to have missed the relics of the old railway that burned in the fires last year. This trail still has plenty of beauty though! The state park is gorgeous and has plenty of camping, though all of the bathrooms are closed in the winter and they only have porta potties (they were clean btw). There also was a camp host there yesterday. They were also burning an invasive plant south in the hike in campground that also appeared to have a permanent vaulted bathroom. Bathrooms and showers in the campground close to the road. Horse trailer parking close to the main road. Numerous camping and plenty of bathrooms for spring and summer. I tried the river trail on my way back to parking before the arch and the trail dead ends or goes above hiking along the arch, I opted out of that. So I had to back track to reconnect to the road. Then I tried the mid trail and again there was damage to that trail and I had to reconnect with the road. This is a beautiful place with plenty of trails to choose from. Day use parking is free. There is a charge for floaters, boaters and overnight stay. The main road is right next to highway 84 and the trains run on the other side of the river from the campground so guaranteed you will hear noise from these things at night. I saw two trains when I was there Monday.
