I love that the store is very organized and neat. In other beauty supply stores, looking for what you need can be a hassle, but it didn't take me long at all here. Everyone was nice and helpful. Also, they have a good inventory and I love that it's black owned

I really hate to give a star at all but I have to in order to leave a review. My daughter called the store yesterday around 5:15 to inquire about a dryer attachment with the cap. The young lady said they didn’t have the attachment but they had the whole bag/bonnet cap dryer. We got there and saw one that had a bag but she took it down and showed us that it was like a heated conditioning cap and that the other was actually the bonnet cap dryer that I wanted. Keep in mind we called first and she told us they had the one that is a bag/bonnet not just a regular dryer that you sit under. Trusting what she said be she the box is taped closed and you can’t see inside, I’m thinking for $65 the bag is inside the box since their box says bonnet dryer. I pay for this dryer and yes I did see the no exchange and no refund policy. I walk outside the door. Didn’t move from in front of the store, didn’t even get inside my car. I looked at the box and started to read what was inside and immediately knew something wasn’t right. I walked back inside and the young lady finished helping another customer and walked back to the counter where I was. I asked her, are you sure this is what I asked for? She said yes ma’am. I think so that’s what it says. I said the box clearly says Bonnet dryer and when I called you said you had it and you just told me in here that this is what it is. I said I feel that this is what I already have (2 of them to be exact). She says, I thought that’s what was in the box because that’s what it says.. I’m so sorry ma’am. I said since you told me this was what I needed on the phone and in the store can you return it for me please? I don’t need this. She said I don’t think I can give you your money back. I said well can I exchange it for something else? She says I’ll ask the owner. She proceeds to text someone or so that’s what I assumed she was doing. She tells me not minutes later that the owner said I can’t return it or exchange it for you. She says again. I’m so sorry ma’am I thought it was the right one but our policy is posted right here. I said I see that but I haven’t even left here with it bad it’s your fault because you told me what it was twice. She said it’s already out of our inventory so we can’t return it or exchange it. Again I understand your policy and every business has policies but I feel this is awful and bad business and shows no customer care or courtesy. If your employees sell the wrong merchandise and give customers incorrect information causing them to purchase the wrong merchandise then you should at least bend your rules for an exchange if not a refund. If it was about the money I never would’ve purchased it in the first place. I understand giving money back but come on now… not even an exchange. Bad business is what this is!!

This beauty supply store has EVERYTHING a natural girl could dream of! All the hair care systems from leading brand names to less known names with great products- amazing inventory and fair prices! But it’s not just for naturals, everyone has a place here. Bundles, braiding hair, crochet hair, clippers ...you name it! I’m in love! It’s beautifully decorated and the accent wall to die for. The owners are very helpful and the staff is great. So happy to see a black owned beauty supply store.

Today is Friday, January 22, 2021 I purchased 6 bags of hair for $9.99 each,from Essence of Beauty in Millbrook Alabama the time that I made my purchased was at 5:38 PM The total came up to $65.04 I proceeded home. My beautician wanted me too send a pic of what I purchased to make sure I had the right hair and I didn’t.... so at this time I call back to the store it was 6:27pm the guy answered and I explain to him I just left the store could I do a exchange not a refund at this particular time he puts me on a hold, he speaks with owner over the phone, (he says I can’t do a refund,)I asked him to explain too her that I just want to make an exchange,( he says she said no exchange either, )okay then I ask if she would give me a call, and she did call me back and I explain too her what I was trying too do keep in mind it’s only been an hour since leaving the store, (she explained too me no exceptions there will not be an exchange of hair due to COVID 19, I have not made any refunds or exchanges since COVID-19) okay, I asked her too put herself in my shoes.. $65.04 may not be a lot of money too some. But we’re I’m from it is!! She says, (just because we are black owned you think you can make a return,) When I heard that I said wait a minute, I had to remind her that ma’am I’m BLACK!! And what does being a black owned business have to do with exchanging hair? I stated to her I pacifically stopped going to the beauty supply stores in Prattville and Montgomery to support your business. I am pro black all the way until the day I die so that statement really rubbed me the wrong way....Just feel like my money have been taken!! Now don’t quote me on this but I haven’t heard of contracting COVID 19 from hair or plastic! Not open not use, COVID-19 is air born...My girlfriend not even a week ago went to beauty an beyond in Montgomery bought 6 bags of hair an only used two, they gave her the exact total of purchase and exchanged the four bags of hair which were brand new in pack never used for other items! She had No problems! And it was 2 days after the original purchase. It had only been a 1 hour since I left the store. Essence of Beauty could’ve honored my exchange...Not being able to even get an exchange says a whole lot about the owner here ...if Beauty and beyond which have been in business for so many years!! can give a store credit/exchange for other items etc.so could have essence of beauty. I am very disappointed I’m stuck with hair I can’t even use, all I wanted too do was exchange those packs of hair for the right hair!! I’m not satisfied as a customer with this outcome!!

1st time visit today ?. Very convenient with reasonable prices on all products and hair. They where very helpful and sweet. I would call names but I have two kids and I barley remember their names half the time ?. Charge it to my mind not my heart. I will from this point on be a loyal customer. Thanks again ❤️

I will definitely be shopping here for all future products, the staff were friendly and so helpful with helping my mother and I on our first visit. They also checked temperatures and had hand sanitizer available for use.

False advertisement there was a tub full of hair they said that the say me products were $2 per pack after taking them to the counter the lady said that it would be the regular price so I asked why she said because it was a 2-4 piece and she said there was a sign there so I went back to the tub the sign was under the hair I had to pull it out and the owner was right there and she did not want to order the discount for the deal that they advertised verbally upon entering the store.. I usually shop there a lot even became a reward member not long ago but never again
