This restaurant is a true gem. My wife and I were driving between Dallas and Houston am stopped here on a whim after seeing reviews. Pleasantly surprised is an understatement. It will be a guaranteed lunch/dinner stop on every trip. Ennis is a better community to live in and visit because of this upscale restaurant.

We visited this restaurant on the Saturday of the Ennis Bluebonnet Festival—a special occasion that naturally draws a large crowd. We were told the wait time would be about 1 to 1.5 hours, so we joined the waitlist and waited patiently. About an hour and a half later, we received a text message saying our table was ready.

However, when we arrived, we watched the hostess seat a walk-in party immediately at a six-person table that had just opened—while we were left standing for another 25 minutes despite our “ready” notification. When I asked about it, the hostess claimed that the walk-in guests were ahead of us on the list, which was clearly not true.

The service was also incredibly slow. It took 20–30 minutes for the food to arrive, but we tried to be understanding, considering how busy it was. We just wanted to eat quickly and move on—but things only got worse.

When my husband finally received his sandwich, he bit into a bread tie that had been left inside. We informed the server, who apologized and said they would replace the meal. The manager briefly came by to acknowledge the issue.

However, after waiting over 30 minutes for the first sandwich, the replacement took more than 20 additional minutes to arrive. In total, we spent over 3.5 hours at the restaurant—only to be served a meal with a potential safety hazard.

To make matters worse, they still charged us the full amount, even though my husband almost swallowed a piece of wire and they expected a generous tip.

This experience showed a clear lack of organization, accountability and customer care.

This is a cool spot in Ennis. We were fortunate to see some young adults in there finest, taking photos near by. Several stopped in to eat after. The menu is delightful y small. The choices good. We went with shrimp and grits along with the carbonara. For starter the burrata toast.

The burrata came quickly with glazed orange and grapefruit on top with a small green garnish. Simply delicious and a perfect start to our meal. Next the shrimp and grits. The grits had a good flavor and the shrimp were good sized and cooked well. My wife indicated that it was well plated and tasted great. The carbonara came out in a large bowl with a perfect egg yolk right in the middle, Beautiful. I quickly stirred the noodles to combine. The first taste ... Perfect.

We enjoyed the atmosphere. Our neighbor beside got a carrot cake. She informed us it was house made this very day. We got one to go, it also was delicious.

This is a great place that we will definitely return to visit. There are several items on the menu that grabbed our attention!

Everything I’ve gotten from here has been absolutely amazing! The service is always top notch and the bartenders always go above and beyond and take pride in their drinks. The kitchen actually makes delicious food (not “okay” food, but delicious!). Also, the atmosphere already speaks for itself. This is a great spot to visit maybe once every three weeks or once a month, depending how much you want to spend dining out.

We had lunch here during the bluebonnet festival. Sat at a table on the sidewalk. Very pleasant. The food was incredible. Started with the artichoke dip as an appetizer and shared the sweet and spicy BLT. Delicious!!! The waitress was great. We will definitely eat here again if in the area.

Very nice atmosphere and polite service. Some of the food was amazing. Popular with the locals, always a good clue to find a good restaurant when traveling. Coffee was a bit stale but OK. Chicken sandwich was a bit over cooked but removed chicken and the tomato arugula avocado aioli was very good.
