I went to Western Beef years ago and it was good so I looked to see if there was one in West Palm Beach but this has been turned over now to be a Gala. It's a large store and reminds me of a Publix except it's more expensive if that's possible. However if you are looking to cook an authentic Latin American dish you can probably find the product in this store. I can't tell you if the price of beef was good because I don't usually buy it so I have nothing to compare it with. The store was clean

This supermarket is a chain, founded by the sons of Italian immigrants in 1963, that has many stores in NY but just 2 here in FL – one in Lake Worth and one in Boca Raton.

The one in Lake Worth is in a big plaza on a busy intersection, and it’s huge.

The first department you see is the vegetable ones: I normally buy my vegetables and fruit at a farmer’s market close by to save money, but their department always seems to be filled with fresh items.

In the same space they also have a bakery and a deli: these are the two places I always go to.
Their pastries (hidden in a little corner) are just ok, but their bread is phenomenal: they apparently bake it all day long and it’s well priced.
The deli is also big: they have a lot of prepared food (which I never tried) and several cold cuts and cheeses, which are sold at very convenient prices – even the imported ones!

From that same space you go to their “butcher room”: this is the other reason why we shop there. They have a wide variety of meats (and some fish), all of it at very decent prices.
Granted, if you are into grass fed, organic, etc. stuff, this is not where you want to shop, but so far we have always found very good meat there.
If you want to check it out, bring a sweater though: the North Pole is probably warmer than this “butcher room”!

They also have a fish department that sells a lot of whole fish too. We bought a few things from there in the past, but stopped because most of the fish in display has been usually already frozen.

We don’t buy much else there, unless we find good deals.

This supermarket is never crowded; prices are more or less in line with other supermarkets, but they always have some special offers.

Not my kind of store. The floors are dirty, employees don’t say hello (some don’t even speak much English) and I noticed some products in the bakery and produce departments looked old. I could see the signs saying they’re remodelling, which is good news. But overall, I would not come back after todays experience

This is a very beautiful location! It’s very clean and employees are super helpful.
They have a wide variety of meats too! An entire Freezer section you can litterly walk into (but bring a jacket, it’s like 32 degrees inside)
We love their Homemade Bread Section as well as their array of Fruits and Veggies too!
They have things on special, so you have loo look carefully, because you can come out with some great deals.
We have one in Boca, but this location is is Wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better in every way.
We will be making the long haul down here because it’s really a nice store!
*Oh and some advice, if you don’t want all the meat in a package, find a smaller package, because THEY DON’T open packages of meat to split up for smaller portions.

I’ve started getting my fish from here because it’s always cut fresh unlike some of the other Spanish supermarkets. Even though the supermarket was renamed, it still seems to have the same quality of stuff that I’ve been getting from here for a while.

I have been coming to Western beef for years, especially in the meat market where I would get some of my meats and sausage rings. The meat market at this new store looked totally different. No more aisles of meats. I checked around for the sausage rings and I didn’t see any. I asked the guys in the counter area, but they didn’t speak English. I asked a different person and he said no more, no more sausage rings. This was the main reason why I come to Western beef. Not sure if I would return to the store. Need to find a different meat market that carries what I’m looking for.

The store has a new fresh look since GalaFresh Farms to it over from Western Beef.
Prices are aggressively low to moderate.
Know your prices before going shopping ANYWHERE.
Tuesday is 10% off for seniors...
That's a big plus.
The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and very efficient.....especially at check out.
My wife and I will be shopping here more often.

I haven’t been here for a while, I needed help with stuff for a 20 ppl toca party, Jason helped me tremendously and saved me so much time, he’s such a helpful, friendly and also a good looking young fellow. Great job!
