So my wife and I took our 5 year old out for a fun night at the auction, we always have a good time, but tonight was quite different. We go quite often and over the years have spent thousands of dollars and usually feel we got a good deal. Tonight we were very disturbed with the way the auction went. We would bid on an item and when it would come back to us for the winning bid it was always $5-$10 higher on average. Even though we saw no other bidders our bid always seems to go up. So we tried a little experiment and bid $5 on a simple bread box, nobody bid on the box but our bid closed at $15. We noticed items with no bids miraculously having bids go up in $10 increments to always close with the same number bidding on that item even though nobody else bid. We noticed two numbers being used continuously for items that no one seemed to bid on, yet bids kept going higher and higher and the same ghost bidder winning. It was very frustrating that we couldn't bid and get a decent price because a ghost bidder would jack up the price even though no one would bid. So if we bid $10 on an item it would always go up and the same ghost bidding number would win the bid. Just on the verge of illegal. I don't believe we will be returning.

I like this place. You can get nice stuff from there. I also work there so I see everything and on auction night I bid on things. And the people that come are so nice.

Tonight was my first and last time attending this auction. I went to specifically buy one item. I couldn’t find the item that was shown on their Facebook page because everything was stacked on top of each other. So I ask about it and was told it was in the middle of the furniture. After sitting there 5 hours I ask about it again to a different worker and was informed it was sold during the week. They don’t deserve one star. Will never go back!!

Attended this auction on 1/8/22 and the auctioneer was obviously "jumping" the bid up and assigning higher bids than what you raised your number for. Example: You raise your # to bid $10, he does a quick "other bidder" and while your lowering your number, looks back & acts like you bid $20 when you did not - or agree/confirm higher bid. I go to auctions all over Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas. While this is set up to be a great auction, including good deals on items, the way he is obviously screwing around with his costumers (and the way he treats his helpers verbally) will make the last time he'll get my business, as well as me mentioning this to people who ask me about good auctions to go to. The worse case I saw last night was actually my daughter bidding on a freezer. She raised her number to bid $75 - he looked but didn't acknowledge her bid and quickly looked "somewhere" and said "One Hundred" & while she was already lowering her hand (obviously being out of bid process) he looked at her and assigned $125 that she NOT bid for - again, jumping the bid and not giving you any chance to agree, confirm, or much less give a real "bid". I'll consider not openly calling him out on it our fault and lesson learned. This obviously happened to the people in front of us also but I didn't realize until we left and had a chance to talk about what others were saying. Anyone who goes will notice he starts all bidding with "I've got $5 (which he absolutely does not! ). All auctions have a few bids that get scrambled for different reasons, but what's going on there is obviously getting them a reputation - the kind that eventually causes businesses to fold.....This was our third time to attend this auction and WILL BE THE LAST as I've definitely seen a consistent pattern.

My first auction in years and I was excited and hoping to have a blast. However, the auctioneer repeatedly continued on past the bidding point and several people backed out because they hadn't meant to bid that much. It happened to me also, but I didn't find out until I went to pay that two of the items were higher than my actual bid. In addition, they had included someone else's ticket for an item I did not bid on. I had to pay the extra $10 for something someone else took home. (Thank God it was only a $10 item!) They said they would talk to the auctioneer and likely send me a check in the mail, but I never heard from them again. A second item I purchased (a speed charger) was missing a part. I thought I was bidding $10 on it, but he had apparently raised it to $20 before I could hide my number, so I ended up paying $20. I paid $9 for the missing part, so basically paid $30 for a used speed charger, which I could have gotten new for $30. Then the thing didn't work. I contacted the manufacturer and they confirmed the light should be on for safety reasons and not to use it. So next I called Haskell Auction and explained the issue. They said there are no refunds, but I reminded them that everything is supposed to be guaranteed to work also. Nobody even checked this charger apparently. Again, she said she would tell the auctioneer and someone would call me back. Nobody called. I am out $40 just for going to their auction and it spoiled the likelihood that I will trust auctions in the future. Thanks a bunch, Haskell Auction.

Sometimes you can get a deal. Often you hear "solid wood" when an item is solid particle board. Several times I have heard the description of something as "brand new" and how it is worth thousands, when it is far from even GENTLY used. MANY times you are bidding against the auctioneer. You bid back and forth, then he announces SOLD to #39 or #65 where the product recirculates/re-emerges at a later auction. #39 & #65 are not numbers assigned to everyday people, like you or I, that come into the auction from outside positions, they are more like a "house number" given to the staff at the beginning of the auction for items that do not sell supposedly. It also has been known to have a three day return policy, for items that do not function, that you can't test on site, but then changes to two days, if you attempt to use it...so be very careful. Many times #39 and #65 are used to drive up the bids, but again, you are not bidding against a valid buyer, when #39 and #65 are "bidding". If I am not mistaken, I believe they call that fraudulent practices in the legal realm.

This auctioneer seems to have a habit of raising my bids to an increment past where you actually bid. If you call him out on it he will back off the money on the ticket It was noticed by others and others also stated it happens to them also. There is some decent merchandise so if you don't mind paying over what you bid then this may be the auction for you. Also calls items as being something they are not. For example I bought a silver and turquoise ring (according to auctioneer) that was under lock and key. It was neither silver nor turquoise. My experience with this place is less than desirable.

I don’t even believe they deserve the one star. They were climbing the price up so much and NOT ONE PERSON WAS BIDDING! We had an entire group watching and mysteriously “#39” always got the item. We tried bidding on MANY items at one price and, being the only one raising, all of a sudden our price jumped up $15-20. He did this on MANY items. If not all. We’ve spent thousands and thousands of dollars here over the years, but after tonight, and getting a better glimpse at what goes down, we will NOT be returning. You got greedy. It’s a shame.
