If you're looking for a place to park an RV while you visit family in the area, or are passing through this location is convenient.
Navigating the park in a larger (35+ foot) RV is tight but mostly navigable ( except the turn around at the back that is too tight for anything over 20 feet)
Spots are just pedestals off the paved road.
Hookups are padlocked. After you arrive and complete an online check in, you call HVL security and they come to unlock them for you.
*Spot #24
The 50 amp ground is loose and set off errors on our surge protector. 30 amp worked fine.

The water pipe is cracked/spraying, and the water pressure is outrageous. Do NOT try to use without a pressure regulator or a patched hose, The pressure was 120+ psi

Watch out for black widows and rattlesnake

Great spot for kids, playground, basketball court; golf, driving range and restaurant across from the entrance.

Wish I could give 0 stars. This place is a joke. The sites r super small. There was no park that was close. U had to walk on a busy road to even get to it. The lake is over 2 miles aways. The bathroom where not kept up. I would never recommend this place. I didn't stay there asked for a refund. I only got less the half back .

Small but nice campground, next to a creek and to Lake County Park, which has a covered playground, basketball courts and enclosed by fenced baseball field.

It’s hard to really call this a campground. It’s a small lot in the middle of suburbia with the “sites” right on top of one another. You do not have access to hidden valley lake if you are staying here as that is private and gated.

The playground is outside and around the corner and down the street from the campground. You can see it, but it is hard to get to. Small spaces, close together.. Not very quiet, lots of in and out traffic, especially late at night. Hidden Valley Lake is NOT accessible to campers. Closest lake that is available is Clearlake. Swampy and dank. Rude staff manning the gate, but bathrooms are clean. Not great for families.

Horrifically small sites. No campfires allowed. Vastly overpriced for what you get. This campground is an embarassment to the community.

To make it better:
1.) Make the sites larger by getting rid of other sites (they're empty most of the time, anyway!).
2.) Plant drought tolerant bushes like (native) manzanita. Maybe crepe myrtle trees (drought tolerant, long flowering time, pretty bark).
3.) If you're not going to allow campfires (understandable due to the fire risk), consider having one single community campfire area for the whole campground.
4.) Hire an actual camp host (sorry mall cops, y'all are great for security but terrible with running a campground).
5.) Add wi-fi...this alone will draw more campers, and will more than pay for any upgrades to the campground.
6.) Add a disc golf course around the perimeter; they're low cost, low maintenance, and help to naturally discourage wildlife from wandering into the campsites.
7.) Find a way to have popcorn and hot chocolate for the kids on Friday and Saturday evenings (yes, people could bring their own...but it would make camping here more unique and special).
8.) Have an outdoor movie area for weekends, in a location that doesn't disturb other campers.
9.) Longer term, I could even see a golf cart shuttle service to Hidden Valley Lake where campers could rent canoes, kayaks, boats, paddle boards, etc.; this would bring summer jobs for the local teenagers and young adults!

Let's make this campground better! It could be SO much more. 1950s summer camp, anyone?! Let THIS campground be ground zero for all things awesome!

The nice thing about this campground is you can book it online or just drive up and book it from your phone when you arrive. You then call the 24-hour security guy to come out and unlock the utilities. Carefully pick your neighbors, as I had one RV that was hooked to 50 amp power and had two additional generators running all night. Hopefully that's not a common occurrence, but it did smell bad and ruin the mood.
