My wife and I visited home last week for a few days at the end of a 1200 mile road trip through Alaska. We did not actively shop our way through the state but did look here and there for something special. There were very few items that interested us until we got to the Homer Spit shops which offer a lot of quality items for tourists to pick from. In particular, Inua was outstanding. The shop has an enormous selection of high quality items to choose from and the young saleswoman was outstandingly personable, helpful, and knowledgeable. The most significant item that we bought was a carved whale , and the shop owner made a point of coming in to the shop to wrap it for travel. It was carefully wrapped and made it home where it is now on display .

My wife and I visited Homer in May, 2024, and saw a piece we immediately liked. Caitlyn helped us with information about the George Vukson scrimshaw-carved mammoth tusk and, several days after we got back to Anchorage, we called and asked that she ship it to us in Texas. She carefully wrapped and protected the piece (FRAGILE: It's over 10,000 years old!) and arranged all the details, timing the delivery for the day after we returned to our Texas home. It arrived on time and safely and we're proud to have this prominently displayed in our home. We do look forward to visiting the Inua gallery again when our travels take us on the Kenai Peninsula.

I came here in July last year and had a great experience with the owner. She went above and beyond to try and help me and my father find something we were looking for. Great customer service.

A worker publicly shamed my husband for touching something in the store. After he stopped immediately, she continued to berate him. Very unprofessional behavior. Nice items, but would never purchase something from this store. The other worker was very kind and friendly to me.

Visited at the end of June while visiting Homer. I bought a beautiful bracelet made with Wooly Mammoth. Staff were so helpful and the quality and design of the bracelet is amazing. As I stepped out of the store a lovely woman, designer of the jewelry?, said that the piece spoke to me.....absolutely true!

Pretty items but make sure you don’t touch anything. My friend was scolded for doing so. Rather than just asking him not to touch, an employee embarrassed him by saying he had greasy fingers and asking him what his mother would say. Really unnecessary. I wanted to buy something but decided to go elsewhere after our group was treated so poorly.

While the shop was beautiful and had lovely items I was unimpressed with the rude staff. Our family was looking after dinner. We stepped in because others were in the shop. Evidently they were closing up. But instead of a polite "we are closing up but are open at X time tomorrow" we got "Oh I just cleaned that!" when my daughter was pointing to an item in a glass case (which she didn't touch, and I was in the process of correcting the behavior to keep her from marking the glass). My friend who was visiting from out of town was really put off by the behavior that she requested we find similar Native jewelry but from any other shop but this one, and we did.

This shop was recommended by our tour guide. What a wonderful store and even more wonderful owners. I believe that all of the artwork and jewelry is made in Alaska so the quality is top notch. The assortment is exceptional. We bought more than we should have but it could have been a lot, lot worse. Just walk in, you'll see what I mean. And be careful of the dog in the doorway :-).
