I try not to come here unless absolutely necessary, but every experience I’ve had at the Chiefland branch over the past 8-9 years has been terrible. The staff is unfriendly, unhelpful, and treat you like a total inconvenience.

It’s clear that customer service and basic politeness are not priorities here. Honestly, the staff needs to be replaced with people who actually want to serve the public. I think it says a lot about the Tax Collector for allowing this to continue and represent our county.

What’s worse is that surrounding counties offer excellent service, but this branch always seems to fall short. I haven’t met anyone who’s been satisfied with their experience at the Chiefland office. It’s really frustrating!

My wife had a frustrating experience surrendering a tag at the Chiefland branch. She waited several minutes while staff chatted, was incorrectly told the tag was already turned in, (which could’ve resulted in suspended license had she not questioned it), and was told she owed a fee to surrender tag that other counties waive. They initially refused to give her the receipt, but after she got me from the car, they handed it to me without verifying my identity. The staff clearly needs better training in serving the public or be removed. The Tax Collector should be embarrassed to allow this staff to work for her.

Easy in and out.. used to be anyway! just take a number most of the time that's not very busy so you don't have to wait for very long but if you are wanting to get your driver's license and you are from this country you better make sure you have your birth certificate marriage license divorce papers bills in your name Social Security card or you will not get your driver's license unless you are a got away or not from this country! If you're not from this country you don't need a thing! I am from here I was born in Florida but they didn't like the copy of my birth certificate even though I've got my license and that same building since 2001! Signed one PO'd Floridian... it cost me $50 to get a copy of my birth certificate

Called to make appointment in case needed for renewal of Drivers License. Got to speak to a real person who was Friendly and Helpful when asked about appointment, even with the Information that's required which I already have on hand ready for visit to the office. I try to meet with employee's of anyplace as if I was employed there, because in reality I am a employee regardless where I work and understand when doing job that may or may not deal directly with a customer(s) or individual(s) especially when employment involving Hotel/Lodging, Food Service/Restaurant, Retail/Shopping, etc. Have A Great Day! Called to check on a bill I received to check if they had received the notice of it being paid.

Put me on hold until they closed, then put me on hold when I was parked outside, then just to be hilarious I called them inside the building. They do very little work here if you're not a government offical.

I wasted about 2 hours on the phone trying to sort out how to get a Florida driver's license to replace my out-of-state license, their phone service is apparently trash, and in both times that I finally got through, I was put on hold, and then somebody else picked up the phone, said she couldn't hear me, and hung up on me. These people just wasted my time.
