This has been my go to market if I’m cooking any Thai dish. I was there yesterday and was shocked to see a 13.5 oz can of coconut milk for $2. I feel this store is using the whole tariffs excuse to price gouge everyone that shops there. I haven’t seen Korean markets do this. I’m actually curious to see if other Asian markets are doing this. I would also like to add how little care the people are. I asked a simple question and the employees response was, “I don’t know.” I would just be very cautious of this place and try to avoid it if possible.

Every time I go to this place to purchase Asian products, I always feel the owners, whose family members work as the cashiers, have no idea that they should treat their customers well for them to return. The last time I was there, I was checking out what I bought. I wanted to use my debit card and my card has the tap feature which I was trying to use this tap feature. I did not see it in their machine so I inserted my card only to finally saw that the tap feature was there. My reaction was to pull my card out of the slot and use the tap. I was reprimanded, I mean reprimanded, by the rude and obnoxious cashier, making me feel belittled, and indirectly telling me that I am an ignorant person who does not know how to use a debit or credit card payment machine. After this experience, I told myself that I will never go back to this market place anymore. I sure do not need to give them business and be treated this way! this cashier is there most of the times I go there and always have this pouting face, like she is constantly having a bad day! She is the reason they will lose a lot of customers.

I've lived close to this market for so long I'm disappointed I never gave it a visit till now. I love how it's close by and has the basic needs for Asian households. I also can't help but notice that rice is sold slightly cheaper here compared to Uwajimaya thus making me decide to buy my next bag of rice here. It's small, it's local, it's convenient. Similar to other Asian markets they only take debit cards.

My husband and mother stopped by the Manila Market to buy some groceries today. My elderly mother was asking some questions about their products and was ignored and yelled at!
The female cashier was very very rude! Turned her back on my mother when she was still talking to her! We've never been treated that bad. NEVER ever again will we go back to the Manila Market! Until they get new owners. Viet Thai store on TV highway treat customers with respect and kindness.

I bought about $7 worth of vegetables here a week ago, I tried to pay with my credit card, but the cashier refused my payment. She said my purchase was under $10. So, I was forced to use my debit card. Isn't this illegal?

Asked to use their Restroom as I needed to go very badly. Was denied access.
And I agree with the other recent review about being unhelpful in general in the store. No smiles and looks completely uninterested in customer assistance.

DON'T shop here!!!
The cashiers cursed at you directly! 🤬

I rarely post on social media, but today's shopping experience in Manila was truly horrible. I've just moved to the Aloha area, and since it's nearby, I often go to Manila to buy groceries. In previous visits, I found the owners (the woman around 40 years old at the cashier) unfriendly. I thought it didn't matter much since I was just there to buy things and didn't have to interact with them.

But today, I needed to buy 2 tofu boxes. When checking out, the cashier (around 40 years old lady) scanned the 2 tofu boxes for $6. Since I didn't have enough cash in my wallet, I used my credit card, and she said, "You can't pay with card for purchases under $10!".
After checking my wallet and finding only $4, I said, "I only have $4, can I pay with card?" Then, I checked again if I had enough coins in my wallet.
At this point, she snatched 1 tofu box and said, "You can buy one for $3."
I recoiled at her attitude, saying, "I wanted to buy 2 boxes, why are you doing this?" I added, "Okay, you can take it back, I won't buy it."
She rolled her eyes and yelled at me, "If you don't have enough money, then don't buy!". At this point, I was truly shocked by her attitude.
I said, "Why did you have to yell at the customer like that? You could have simply suggested buying more items to reach $10. This is the last time I'm coming here!" and walked out.
However, she continued to yell at me, saying, "You don't understand; you don't have enough money," then took the two tofu boxes and put them away.

I'm truly shocked by her attitude. So rude!!! If she, as a owner, doesn't want to sell products and interact with customers, she shouldn't be in business!!!!
