BEWARE OF FRAUD!
I was overcharged on my credit card by the owner lady!
I was told $14 at the register and my bank statement says I was charged $19.
SHAME ON YOU for taking advantage of a disabled person!

I came here and was excited to see they had Chicken Tikka Masala as a grab and go. While it was very salty it was basically fine and I stopped again to get it for the kids last night who normally love that dish. When I got it home it was clear that it was spoiled. There was a shiny slimy coating on some of the chicken and it smelled like rotten meat. I called and they said they keep those dishes 6 days. While that is technically allowed, this food was in basic to go containers, not air tight and clearly not up to temp. It was not a bad recipe that I am complaining of, but unsafe, SPOILED food. Just because you legally can keep things for a week does not mean all dishes can tolerate this or that it it actually safe or healthy for all food. They could make this and freeze it and sell it frozen, but instead the rice was oozing water and the chicken slimed. So very gross.
I took it back and since I has bought two, I asked for a refund for both since the one had been dished out and thrown out. The young guy there (not the owner) refused and only refunded the one I brought back (I had bought it less than 20 min earlier from the same guy).
They are the only store in this small area. They could sell good and safe food and people would come...and instead they cut corners and sell old spoiling food. I won't get anything there again.
The guy SHOULD have apologized profusely and returned my money for both dishes and told me he would make sure this didn't happen again. Instead he was defensive. That is a bad sign for improvement in food safety. He also proceeded to correct me about the right temp for the fridge (spoiler alert, he was wrong). The lesson here? Sell FRESH food or don't sell grab and go food. When you accidentally fk up this bad....be humble. The combo is getting you a review and a report to the health department. I feel bad for the owner who maybe didn't know his workers were this careless.
Don't. Sell. Gross. Rotting. Food!

Erik, maybe you had a bad day. Melrose Store is fantastic and the pizza has always been awesome, both in the store and take and bake. The curry is also great! My wife and I moved to Roseburg about a year and a half ago and this is one of our favorite places.

I have been going in there for almost 2 yrs. I love all the girls. Always friendly and always make sure I everything I’m looking for. Sandwiches are the bomb. Also I’ve never had a better pizza. The owner an her husband are very nice people

Melrose store is a great little store that is conveniently located in the Melrose community. I really love their sandwiches and take and bake pizza. The staff there is really friendly, and are hard workers. Erica and Angie are my favorites! One time, I had mentioned that the store didn't have the type of pizza that I wanted, and Erica asked me to wait a few minutes while she went in the back and made it for me. I really appreciated that level of service and generosity. I highly recommend visiting this place.

It's country so the gas is a little higher but the people are friendly. Good cigarette prices I'm told, really high cookie prices. Super friendly people. Porta potties behind store. Propane too

Melrose Country Store impressed me because they have a little bit of everything. Great prices too. What really keeps me coming back is those fantastic deli sandwiches they make! The ingredients are very fresh and they come up with some pretty tastey combinations.
