The Midtown Plaza is a hidden gem! The business center is a perfect blend of comfort and functionality, with fast Wi-Fi and plenty of coffee shops nearby to fuel productivity. The atmosphere is professional, yet welcoming—ideal for getting work done or hosting meetings. Highly recommend!

Yesterday, Monday April 24th, in the late morning, I was ordering a drink and trying to order food at the drive through Starbucks in Midtown Plaza by Sarasota Memorial hospital. After I ordered my drinks I asked for a protein box, the gentleman said there were none, I asked for another sandwich and said there were none and we were both laughing by now. I ordered another item and he said they were out and we laughed more. The exchange was all in good fun until a woman screamed through the order kiosk “that’s not funny I’ve got minors on the floor!”

Needless to say I was confused at this loud inappropriate employee based reaction.

Clearly your manager was having a bad day and took it out on me. This is where it gets very disturbing: As I pulled up to get my order, I rolled my window down only to be greeted by a very bitter angry red faced woman named, Stephanie. Stephanie with pink hair was fully leaning her head shoulders and arms out of the customer service window and began to verbally abuse and berate me for joking with my barista.

The customer service Stephanie showed me was insulting and quite inappropriate. I’ve been coming to this Starbucks for at least 15 years and this poor treatment is uncalled for and frankly out of left field. I am sure this is not the kind of employee to customer relationship Starbucks wishes to peruse.

Every customer should be treated with a new attitude. I was treated like a punching bag for all of Stephanie’s frustrations. An apology would have been much more appropriate and appreciated in this circumstance. The customer is the last person that should bear the manager’s bad mood. I believe this was all a part of Howard Schultz’s vision, correct?

When I later called to file a complaint with the afternoon manager, she apologized and wholeheartedly agreed with me that Stephanie’s behavior was wrong. She recognized that my barista and I were having fun and joking. Nevertheless, I thought you should be aware that this behavior occurs at this location and I may not be the only one.

Restricted parking rules in a big free parking lot!
A big Winn Dixie, Michael's on East...fine dining, Davidson's Drugs, Panera, bank .... definitely an odd combination of retailers. Oh, and Starbucks....mini inside, and outside tables ...I don't get the draw 😎

Lot's of great choice to choose from, if you are interested in higher end dining Michael's on east is a great choice that has been part of the dining experience for many years if you are looking for a low cost on the run meal Panera is a good choice.

Midtown Plaza is a very Busy place, accessible by US 41 (Tamiami Trail), Bahia Vista & East Ave. There's quite an assortment of stores, eateries and shops. Starbucks, Rexall Drugs, Winn Dixie & Panera Bread are always running full tilt, and Michael's on East is one of Sarasota's finest eatery/winery, and Elysian Fields is an oasis of calmness and treasures you can't find anywhere else. Parking can be a problem, and access from 41 & Bahia Vista can be problematic. It's definitely worth the wait! 🤓💞🌅🌴
