Japanese supermarket to serve Asian population in Irvine. Beside the regular grossceries, foods, or household items, there are snack counters, food courts, coffee booth for its customers. There might be limited seating during peak time. Clean and well maintained store.

I love this place. They have really good quality items, a lot of choices in their ready to eat section and their food court is just amazing. I don't live in Irvine, but when I do go, I absolutely MUST stop by. Even when I'm not actually hungry, I can't resist stopping by the food court. It really is that good.

A decent, small Japanese market with 3 eateries inside at the rear along with Royce chocolate and a tiny bakery. Size means they won't carry everything, so sometimes another trip to the larger Mitsuwa/Tokyo Central in Costa Mesa, or even the humongous T.C. in Gardena. Not my first choice simply because I know I'll be going to another supermarket right after for all my groceries.
Eg. Bakery here only has plain cupcakes, not the cranberry version.
Prices going up rapidly. Eg. $23 Ryukakusan here vs $18 T.C. So sale items are the key.
That said, convenient for those in this area, clean, and an option besides the 2 99 Ranch markets to get Japanese/Asian ingredients and eats.

The heart and soul of an authentic native Japanese dish at an unbeatable price. Look at the picture and be assured of its freshness and healthiness. It's self-service, so, do refrain from the unsustainable tipping culture. Resist those TV chefs who insulted our intelligence to pay for their restaurant employees. Tipping is an American form of gratitude - not a (tax free?) compensation of labor.

One of the best Mitsuwa in Southern California! It has a wide variety of groceries, fresh sushi, fresh seafood and pastries. The food court a good selection of Japanese street food. It even has a Daiso inside!
