What a great spot! Cozy and comfortable with great views from our outdoor porch. It was a wonderful spot to come back to after a rainy day in Port Reyes searching for birds and bobcats! Plus, one of the owners, Mara, was incredibly kind and helpful in making restaurant suggestions and giving us some ideas of where to hike in the park. My son and I will be back for sure!

Absolutely charming. The lodge was a very welcoming place to relax, with a fireplace, pool table, couches, puzzles, games, books, coffee and tea. Back deck with incredible expansive views of marshlands with so many birds. The room we stayed in was cozy. The walls are thin, but they warn you of this and ask everyone to be quiet by 9.

While the structure certainly reminds of a motel (we appreciated being able to park our motorcycles right in front of of our room), the overall atmosphere is way closer to a cozy bead and breakfast. There is a large, very cozy common room (lodge) with a fireplace, bollard table, board games etc. A great veranda has beautiful views of the bay. Our rom was small but very cozy. Great bathroom with plenty of hot water.
The staff was super friendly, helpful and very knowledgable of the area and the wildlife. This must be an amazing place for birdwatchers - ut even "normal" guest will appreciate the views.
We really loved this place and will be back!

You truly cannot beat the phenomenal views from this utterly charming hotel. I saw geese and egrets as they enjoyed the sparkling waters of the Tomales Bay. The owners are some of the most welcoming and kind people I have encountered and the space is super quaint. I’m counting down the days until I can return here again! And did I mention I was here for a wedding? The couple got married right on the deck with the bay as a stunning natural backdrop. As a wedding planner, I don’t know that I’ve ever had the privilege to work in a more beautiful setting. Thank you Motel Inverness for an epic stay!

Motel This is way better. It's more like an inn. It is very peaceful and the surroundings are beautiful. The rooms look out toward Tomales Bay. There is a large common room with books, games, fireplace, comfy furniture, and a deck with patio furniture. There is a kitchenette with mini frig, ice machine, tea, and coffee. Rooms are small but comfortable; beds are comfy. The managers of this property are helpful and friendly. This was an anniversary getaway for us and I have to say, this was an excellent place to stay.

My husband and I wanted to spend a few days exploring Point Reyes National Seashore. We stayed at Motel Inverness based on reviews and location. We are glad we did. Mara and Todd were so nice and helpful in choosing trails and restaurants. Our room was small but we were able to use the lovely lodge room to eat our breakfasts. (Good breakfast sandwiches available from Inverness Park Market just down the road). Dinner at Due West was very good. We loved the Seashore visit, and Motel Inverness.

I believe someone once wrote Motel Inverness has a soulful heart...and we found that genuine goodness to be true everywhere. It is welcoming, old-school, intimate and serene. The motel backs up against stunning Tomales Bay with unobstructed views everywhere. It was so gorgeous.||||There is a great communal room with comfy lounge chairs, a lovely fireplace, board games, a pool table, little frig/microwave, bird-watching lists on black-boards and a wonderful big deck for guests. We stayed in the California Quail room that was cozy, clean and had a comfortable bathroom and little deck facing Tomales Bay as well. The road noise out front is there on summer weekends but in the evening and morning hours, everything was relaxing. And anyway, aren't you out and about in fabulous Point Reyes?||||I can't say enough how much we loved our stay....and the new managers are gracious, friendly and helpful. There is an understanding to be respectful of noise after 9pm and when we were there, everyone was accommodating. The setting is for a peaceful time. I can easily recommend.

The motel was small and quaint. The manager lives on site and was very welcoming and explained all the amenities. We had the twin bed room, which was small but very clean and accommodated our needs for the one night. We will return to the motel again when we can spend more time to explore more of the area, instead of the one night.
