Was visiting the area with family and stopped here on a Saturday morning for coffee and breakfast. It was busy - the line moves pretty quick and although all tables were full when we got there, we were able to get one when we got our food. Between all of us we tried different things and were impressed! I personally loved the iced lavender latte. The Patrona sandwich is a REALLY good gf option. The farm sandwich is a perfect mix of things - so good! The coastal croissant sandwich is the only thing that was lacking in my opinion - not impressed with the sausage on it. The croissant is huge and the egg and sausage don’t fill it but it was still decent! Just not worth getting again in my opinion. The potatoes are seasoned perfectly and the portion and sides they give you are very filling.

We loved the atmosphere, friendly service, coffee and food so decided to return on our last day. We got a mix of breakfast and lunch and were really impressed with the Cuban (huge portion and they do not skimp on the meat, great flavor), grilled cheese (really yummy balance of all the toppings on it) and the cinnamon roll! We tried the coconut French toast casserole and liked the flavor but it wasn’t our personal favorite texture (kind of dry). Also - the chips with dip that come as a side are so good! Overall a great experience coming here! Honestly don’t know why the rating isn’t higher

We are so glad we visited this cafe, I saw it on Instagram and had to come by when we were in town. They have made such good use of the outdoor space and there is plenty of shade. The food was delicious although we were a bit confused about the menu. After speaking with the staff, we ordered croissants and scrambled eggs on the side and made our own sandwich. It was delicious. We also had chips and onion dip, then ordered two more plates of chips because it was so good! The presentation of the food was lovely and unexpected. I felt like the food was a bit overpriced but not unusual for fancy cafes. The staff at the cash were a bit disinterested and could have been more friendly. The staff preparing the food were very nice. Service was also quick. We sat right by the water and it was so peaceful. It’s a great place to bring a book or have coffee with a friend. Would love to return as soon as we can!

Atmosphere, 5. This is absolutely a staple place I take guests from out of town visiting. Great vibes, and great banana cold foam coffee. Food is fine, regular coffee is fine, but the vibes and atmosphere are what really do it. Also love that it’s dog friendly!

Patrona Coastal Cafe is slightly better than its sister operation “The Getaway”, but still suffers from similar problems. See “The Getaway” reviews for more context.

The cafe is clean, has good views, and the service is pleasant. However, the prices are very steep for basic food and coffee. I understand the challenges with inflation, but the latest price hike only made the already high prices even higher.

Some examples (comparing Dec ‘24 -> Jan ‘25):
-Iced coffee: 3.5 -> 5 (40% increase)
-Brown sugar shaken espresso: 7 -> 9 (30% increase)
-Grilled cheese: 13 -> 16 (20% increase)

I understand the dollar difference may seem immaterial, but at this rate, regular customers will start looking elsewhere — especially when comparable cafes offer similar quality at lower prices.

My New Favorite Escape in Tampa!!

I walked in with a clouded mind, a little too lost in my thoughts, but this place snapped me out of it the second I stepped out of the car. Birds were singing—loudly—like they had a full-on concert planned just for me. For a moment, I felt like I was back on vacation. It didn’t feel like Tampa anymore—it felt like an escape. And that’s exactly what I needed.

Then came the coffee—smooth, nutty, and dangerously easy to drink. The adult grilled cheese? Crispy, melty, sweet, and somehow even the tomatoes (which I usually ignore) made perfect sense.

And just when I thought I had seen it all, I wandered over to their second location—a bar, a pier, a mini beach, and cozy little spots perfect for hanging out. At this point, I wasn’t just into this place—I was fully obsessed.

Final thoughts: If you’re in Tampa and haven’t been to Patrona Café, fix that.

I’ve seen this place all over TikTok, so I had to check it out. Now I totally get the hype. The scenery is stunning, and there are plenty of seating options. I ordered the Samoa coffee and the Seaside Macchiato. We also tried the Coastal Breakfast Croissant and the Coastal Cuban. I love that the food was fresh and not frozen. I can’t wait to come back!
