DO NOT SELL TO THIS LOCATION!!!!
This was the first time I tried selling items at this location and I will not be coming back. the workers were rude and acted annoyed the whole time. I dropped off 6 big reusable bags with half of the items being like new or new with tags. when I went to pick up my items, she said they could only take two. the items they took were a pair of Chaco sandals and American Eagle tennis shoes for ELEVEN DOLLARS. I had quite a few pairs of shoes that were brand new with tags in one of the bags but they just grabbed what was on the top. they obviously hadn’t even looked through the bags because everything was still folded in the same place as when i dropped them off. then she tried to give me only three of the six bags back because the rest had other names on them. when I pointed this out and said they were mine she acted annoyed and just pulled the name off the bags and handed it to me. this was frustrating since I drove 40 minutes to this location and waited over 2 hours just to get basically everything back. I will not be coming back to this location to sell or even to shop.

We dropped off two boxes of clothes. Kappa pants, a Tommy Hilfiger matching wallet and purse, a pair of Tommy glasses, old navy shorts etc. We came back an hour later, half of the clothes are missing and the purse and wallet are gone. We came back to pick up our stuff, and Yureli (the lady that took the boxes) said we aren’t going to buy anything. We opened the boxes and made sure and there was 2 of the 5 shorts missing and the Tommy side bag and wallet and the sunglasses. We went back in to ask her where the stuff is, she said she doesn’t know and “check the car”. We took pictures and counted the clothes for this exact reason. There was shorts and a purse and wallet and glasses missing. Maybe a few shirts. We turned in 2 boxes from 2 different households in the neighborhood. She tried to put clothes FROM THE OTHER BOX in ours and say that’s how it came! I don’t even recognize a lot of this stuff! I specifically tell the kids to count and mark on the box what’s on there. She must have thought if she unfolded the box we wouldn’t notice. This is BY FAR the biggest scam around! And I love Plato’s closet. But this is the FIRST time I’ve ever dealt with a thief at a job whose responsibility it is to go thru stuff AND RETURN IT ALL. If I knew who ran this I would let them know too. What a terrible staff member she was/is, and a thief. The pics are what is now gone and the box is what she gave back. Ridiculous!

TRUST ME GO TO THE TUSCALOOSA BRANCH This location is absolutely awful. Brand new southern marsh $180 jacket with tags not accepted. The Tuscaloosa branch took it first day. They have no sense of what’s in style. Be aware this Plato caters to a different type of customer. Not college age, popular, or preppy trends. Didn’t even take a Patagonia jacket. Insane. Tuscaloosa took all of my items thankfully!

Went there later in the day, around 6:30. Their policy of no trash bags to bring clothes is horrible. And when you do bring clothes in boxes, they send you back with 90% of what you brought in all because it “doesn’t fit the seasonal style.” Another issue with this is that the men’s section does not have a seasonal style. My biggest problem however was the costumer service. Shared a changing room with my girlfriend and they told me off with extreme passive aggression, claiming I lied to them, when in fact they never told me their changing room policy of boys and girls not being in the same changing room. I don’t have a problem with the rule as much as I do with their reaction. The stuff they have is good, but not worth the horrible service. Wasn’t my first bad experience with their staff, and although I do not like attacking workers, it just needed to be mentioned. If you’re bringing in clothes, be prepared to take most of them home.

A friend from the Tuscaloosa area recommended I use this as an option to get a rid of some of my daughter’s clothing. All the negative reviews believe them all. I had a large box full of folded clothing at least 30-40 items. As stated only looked at top items. Jeans and items that had never been wore, I’m sure she didn’t even look at. Had the most awful attitude/personality. And like others said because it was in a box I was left with everything except an ugly Christmas sweater which is what I thought I would be bringing back home. She told me it would take 25 minutes at least, she called me up in less than 5. They stated no clothing in bags, I had multiple pair of shoes, in a bag. Said nope…. I repeat do not waste your time here. I may just try some of the other locations. This one leaves you feeling like why even bother. Horrible experience.

DONT SELL HERE, i have been a loyal customer to 3 different locations for almost 10 years. The selling process is either slow or very quick. They barely accept any items and when they do they give you $2 for a name brand t shirt.
Not to mention that the mens sections keeps getting smaller smaller but yet they wont take hardly any good items.

Do not sell to this location I brought in a bin full of clothes that I have brought that still had the tags on them and that I have never worn. They only took two items. The girl said the condition & wear of the clothes were terrible. I informed her that I have never worn the clothes and she responded with o well i don’t know I didn’t do your stuff so. I will not sell with them again. They will post signs saying there looking for specific clothes and when you bring those in they don’t accept them. They only accept dirty and outdated items.. Plato’s have lost a customer I will no longer sell or buy from this location.

Don’t even bother trying to sell your clothes here. I brought a laundry basket FULL of Victoria secret, old navy, target, and forever 21 tops, jeans, purses and shoes and they took 4 items for $18. You’re better off taking them to the Trussville location or just donating it to the local woman’s shelter. This place sucks.
