I shop at this Ralph’s often. Some of the staff are very friendly and helpful, while others are not as much. However, I always find everything I need. They have daily specials, and while the store can be a bit messy at times, it’s not a big issue.

Terrible Customer Service at Ralphs Bakery: Avoid Chaney!

I had the worst experience at Ralphs on Ventura Blvd & Topanga Canyon Blvd in Woodland Hills, specifically at the bakery section. I’ve been shopping here for years, but today’s incident was beyond unacceptable.

I went to buy a birthday cake for my mom with my kids. We waited over 15 minutes for an employee to assist us. When she finally came, we politely asked for a cake, which she took to the back. After 20 more minutes of waiting, we asked why it was taking so long, and instead of a simple explanation, she rudely yelled at us, saying it was “normal” and that we had to wait. Another customer was dealing with the same issue.

Frustrated, we asked for a store director, only to be told there wasn’t one available. Instead, we were sent to Chaney, the assistant manager in the bakery section. Rather than listening to our complaint, Chaney immediately defended the employee, insisting it was her first day, completely ignoring our main concern, which was her disrespectful and unprofessional behavior. When we explained this, Chaney became rude, dismissive, and completely uninterested in solving the problem.

We even asked Chaney to check the security cameras so she could see exactly how the employee treated us. Instead of taking this reasonable step, she refused to listen and repeatedly told us, “Because you’re mad, I’m not listening to you.” Of course, after such awful treatment, I was mad, who wouldn’t be? But even if a customer is frustrated, it is the manager’s job to find out what happened and handle the situation professionally, not dismiss them outright.

I am shocked at the lack of customer service and accountability in this store. A manager or assistant manager should aim to de-escalate situations, not worsen them. Chaney failed completely, she was impolite, unprofessional, and had no interest in resolving the issue.

RALPHS, WE SPEND OUR HARD EARNED MONEY IN YOUR STORE, AND WE EXPECT DECENT SERVICE IN RETURN. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER STORES IN WOODLAND HILLS. IF YOU DON’T FIX YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE, PEOPLE WILL GO ELSEWHERE.

Flowers from the Bloom Haus collection at Ralph's were not it at all. The freshness and quality were poor in many ways. For $50, it was not worth the money and left a bad taste.

My partner grabbed me some flowers the day before Valentine's Day, and what I received when opening it (within 30 mins) was shocking. The flowers were fully stocked at the store, too.

The 2 sunflowers were held up by boba straws 😭. The stems were mostly rotten. 80% of the flowers in my bunch were dead or heavily bruised. 1 of the rose spays were droopy and likely dead.

Whoever put this bouquet together from Bloom Haus probably grabbed some leftover dead/bruised scraps that didn't match and called it a day.

I had to toss away 80% of the bouquet, leaving mostly greenery and filler flowers. The remaining bouquet was still bruised and droopy, too.

Given that my partner may have just grabbed a bad one, the floral attendants should've done quality checks. I wanted to cry for him.

Usually have no problems coming here. However, with it being Christmas eve I understand short staff and alot of business but when you have a big ass puddle in a minute the middle of the holiday section usually that entails a clean up. I was at the store for an hour and nothing was done about it.

I've never been to any grocery store that can compare to this particular Ralph's. I went in to buy some fruit and left with the best-tasting fruit I've had in years, a box of sugar cookies from the bakery, some ice cream, two house plants, and I could have left with so much more. Every department I entered was by far the best department of any store within a 30-mile radius. I challenge someone to find a nicer floral department or a bakery with such variety and quality. Everything was neatly organized, and the prices were lower than I thought they'd be. I don't know if it's the management doing an excellent job or if each department takes that much pride in what they put out. Long story short—I went in for a couple of pieces of fruit, and when I left, I was inspired enough to write this. If for some reason you are reading this to decide where to shop for groceries, do yourself a favor and check this one out.

I had the most bad experience at this store I was told after the fact I wasn’t able to charge my phone in there store outlet and front of a lot of shopping customers, where I was told earlier by an employee of there store I could plug my phone into there working plugs , I felt so embarrassed and uncomfortable by manager JASON , I tried to wait for his employee to come back from lunch which Jason said the employee that told me that I can plug my phone gave me the wrong information. Which I still feel I shouldn’t have been called out if it was his employee fault not mine and I also apologize because I wasn’t Aware of I wasn’t supposed to plug my phone in the store , believe me if that was the case I would of not plug my phone up in the store in the first place . So rude

Let me start off buy thanking Carmela for my breath taking floral arrangement that she put together! I wanted something big, fancy and she made it happen with 30 roses…. Also, I brought my own crystal Vase. However this location had plenty to choose from. I highly recommend Carmela at this particular location.
Also the selection in the coolers for ready to go arrangements are so beautiful and a great deal. I will definitely we back on Saturday to pick one up for a friend.

Great selection of cheeses and gourmet items for a typical grocery store. Also, nice that it’s open on Christmas Eve until 10!
