I like Rouses for there local, Gulf coast specialty items. They have really good quality meat and fresh seafood. The wine selection is fantastic and many craft beers are stocked. The store is always clean, the staff helpful and you rarely wait in line to checkout. There prices are a bit higher than some grocery chains but their sales are great!

Clean, well stocked market with lots of freshly made food items in specialty departments. Including a sushi station. If you want to prepare gumbo or jambalaya they have a well stocked aisle full of the spices you’ll need. Definitely a locals market. You’ll not see that in another part of this country. It was amazing to behold and a pleasure to shop there.

I generally don't leave reviews for crappy customer service. But this is not the first time this kind of treatment has happened at this particular location and it only gets worse and worse every time. This review is for the front end cashiers/custom service. I came in to pick up some produce. As I was waiting in line, custom service started ringing up customers as the lines in the checkouts were getting backed up. I was next and the lady up front (didn't catch her name, but she had glasses and her hair up in ponytail) skipped over me and took the person behind me, who had more items than me (I only had two things) and proceeded to look me dead in the eyes as she did it. As I finally got up to checkout, my cashier, Thomas, did not say a word to me at all. I even spoke to him first... Now, I work in retail as well and I don't expect a big, fake smile every time I shop somewhere. But, a simple "Hello" or "Hey, how's it going?" isn't that much to ask for (You know, acknowledging your customers). I guess for Thomas it is. My advice for whoever is in charge of the front end is to either hire new cashiers or get self checkouts installed. Because clearly the people who work up front are NOT cut out to deal with the public. This will be the last time I shop at this location.

It's a more local store for local tastes. I prefer the store to most of the chains. There are some stores in the chain that are larger, fancier, etc, I couldn't say this one is the absolute best, the whole chain gets a 5-star as far as I'm concerned.

I shop here each week and it’s always been a perfect experience, however not today. The cashier Thomas was very unpleasant and rude. He needs more training on customer service. My groceries was still on the counter not bagged yet and he starts ringing up the person behind me shoving his groceries with mine. I asked if this was how we do it now, he stated yep sure is. I called the manager over and he apparently doesn’t care. We got nowhere and I bagged my own groceries and the manager stood there watching, didn’t even help after his employee’s rude behavior.

It's a little pricey on somethings but they do have great sales on their meats. The meat dept and seafood dept are always kind and helpful. Their deli staff can be helpful but not always but the hot plate foods are amazing. They have some great cashiers and some not so great ones. The people who gets the carts in are friendly and tries hard to clear the parking lot of carts.

Rouses reminds me of living back in New Orleans the smell of the food prepared in the grocery store reminds me of the restaurants in NOLA. I don't shop at Rouses weekly once a few months to replenish pantry supplies. They stay busy even past 6 pm store is not too big and easily can navigate in the aisle.

They have an order, gentleman by the name of Tim That keeps the shelves straight. I will say by far the most amazing looking store. I've been in and long long time. Very respectful man takes pride in his work. I will be shopping here more a lot more
