Ive been a regular customer at this smoke shop and have always had a decent experience — until now. I usually go there later then I did today and clearly had a different experience
Today, I came in to get my vape, and what I encountered was extremely disappointing and honestly, a bit unsettling.
After I walked in, another customer came in shortly after me. Instead of acknowledging me, the employee went straight to helping him. I politely spoke up and said, “Hey, I’m here,” just in case he didn’t see me. But he clearly had — and responded with an unnecessarily rude and dismissive, “I’m helping him. You can wait.”
What made it even worse was that when I asked to speak to the owner after he was being rude telling me “ you know what I refuse service to you” , he claimed he was the owner I mean he was getting mad and he stepped out from behind the counter and got aggressively close to my face — which made me feel incredibly unsafe and intimidated, especially as a woman.
& funny thing is 5 mins later the owner walks in !!! That level of dishonesty, combined with the aggressive behavior, is absolutely unacceptable.
I later realized the customer he helped first was someone he knew — which explained why he didn’t bother checking his ID which he ratted on himself when I was at check out with another employer ( thankfully) which makes sense to why he served him before me in the first place …
So when it was finally my turn, I was asked for mine, and I mentioned that the previous customer wasn’t asked… like be professional and treat everyone the same even if you know them or not and follow the policy just don’t apply policy when you want
I feel bad writing this because the owner was respectful and kind, but someone like this should not be representing your business. If this kind of behavior continues, it will absolutely drive loyal customers away. No one deserves to be treated like that. Even if I was hypothetically wrong, let’s say he should’ve never responded the way that he did because at the end of the day that’s his business and if someone is hiring, you respect their business and do what’s right don’t stoop down and be egotistical!
