This is the best card shop in Stockton PERIOD! They are coming up on their 1 year anniversary, I've been playing Magic The Gathering here since about April, and I don't want to go anywhere else! The store owners are such a lovely couple. They're engaging and welcoming, and the community for a bunch of different games are flourishing now!

Even on days when I'm not there, I see from Sparks' Instagram account that folks are always in there and other games are doing well. This isn't just a shop for MTG, Pokémon and YGO, it really is a trading card shop, they've got Lorcana, Universes, and all kinds of other games you might be interested in playing. I highly suggest you come in and inquire about what games get played on what days.

Every visit to Sparks Trading Card Company is a fantastic experience! The sense of community here is truly unmatched. I’ve had the chance to learn and dive into so many amazing games, including Magic the Gathering, Pokémon, Grand Archives, and UniVersus, just to name a few!

What really sets Sparks apart is how welcoming everyone is. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned player, the staff (go Erica and Kyle!) and fellow gamers are always eager to teach you the ropes and discuss strategies. It’s a place where you can grow and enjoy the thrill of gaming with passionate people. I can’t recommend Sparks enough—if you’re into trading cards or want to learn something new, this is the place to be!

Needless to say, this place was hidden. However, once you find the entrance, you will realize how amazing this store actually is. I walked in with my family and was immediately greeted with a kind smile.

While we were there just browsing, we were amazed by the selection of goods. Yes, some packs are a bit pricier than other competitors; (4.99 for stellar crown booster vs 4.49 at the Safeway kiosks). However, supporting a place that's local like this matters, even if that means shelling out an extra dollar or two. This place appears to hold competitions and would be an awesome place to get involved in them if you are interested.

If you need information on how to start collecting, or whether a card is worth sending off for grading, these people will definitely help you without a hitch.

"Sparks Trading Cards" and "The Poketable" both hold the number one spot on my list for local card shops; hands down. And here's a plus, they are both next to each other! If you visit one, I highly recommend you visit the other. (See my review of the poketable)

Sparks Trading Cards is also licensed with Pokemon, so it means that they can receive new packs early.

Absolutely fantastic experience at Sparks Trading Cards in Stockton, CA!

The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, helping me find exactly what I was looking for. The owner, Kyle was involved and made us feel at home.

The store has an impressive selection of cards and board games, and the atmosphere is welcoming and fun. Whether you're a seasoned collector or just starting out, this is the place to be.

GPS will take you in front of buildings near Pershing. The store is located in the back of the building, and go into the gate to the right. There is plenty of parking, easy to reverse and leave.

Great store for all your TCG needs and overall a great community. I don’t really play any TCGs but I do collect. The owners are always friendly and willing to strike up a conversation with me.

I trade in my bulk Pokemon and other cards that I think people might actually play with for some of the nice singles they have. They don’t have a ton of singles, but that’s the mark of a store where people actually play the games!

I’ll continue to stop in from time to time and I check in on the Discord daily. Maybe some day I’ll start playing some TCG!

I don’t usually leave reviews but Sparks was a 10/10 experience. I travel a lot for work and usually stop by local shops, and this store was by far my favorite. Their singles and bulk isn’t the largest selection but they’re very quality cards. Hardly any duplicates and “trash” cards. Prices were more than fair. The gentleman and lady working today were very accommodating

The shop had many selections- cards, stickers, pens, card sleeves & etc.
The staff was very kind and they hold events/tournament. Definitely will recommend to others!

40% trade value is absolutely insane and they’re profit mark ups are even crazier. No one at the register. Took 5 minutes for me to figure out who even worked there.
