I previously rated this five stars, but recently had to make a return. The manager, Jason was rude and confrontational the moment I stepped through the door. He either pretended to or genuinely didn't know the company's rewards program. When I showed him the transaction on the website (using my phone), he tried to grab my phone and wallet without asking. Returning for a gift card is fine, which I was able to do, but the confrontational attitude was unnecessary. I will be sure to remember this next time I'm looking for camping supplies.

I went to purchase a firearm today as a late birthday present for myself. I have a background of working on firearms, selling them, and hunting. Approached the gun counter and the old guy with the gray mustache showed me 2 different guns. While I was comparing them, he was very rude to me raising his voice essentially telling me there is no reason for me specifically to own a gun and acting like he had somewhere better to be. I have never met this man. I could tell I have much more knowledge about models and cartridges right away and realized I was talking to someone who doesn't know much about firearms...working behind the gun counter. Tried to explain to him about the past attacks I've experienced In life and my position on owning guns. He then told me it doesn't matter because he "lived in LA." I had no desire to spend money there so I thanked him, gave him back the guns, and went to another gun store in town. This piled with being a former employee of sportsman's and knowing how poorly the employees are treated by the company makes me not able to recommend them to anyone. My family and I will not be shopping here anymore.

This is just a heads up to anyone looking to purchase anything from this store online. I've had nothing but a pleasant experience shopping in store (the ladies working the front have always been very friendly and helpful) but there is something horribly wrong with their online store.

If something is listed as "in-store pick up today," I would recommend physically going to the store and buying in person as there's a good chance this is not true. If it says something along the lines of "available to ship to store," this also is not true.

I had ordered two kayaks online from this store, one of which was available to ship-to-store and one of which was available for in-store pick up the day of. After placing my order, five days later I received the email notification that my in-store kayak was out-of-stock and cancelled my order. After seven days I received the same email for the kayak I ordered to ship to the store. For both of these orders I also received an email a couple of days prior to them being cancelled that the orders were "delayed." Rest assured in knowing that if Sportsman's marks your order as delayed it will likely be cancelled (this seems to be very common for people ordering firearms as well).

But no need to worry, I did receive the paddles and life jackets that I had ordered for the kayaks I never received. Went to REI instead and purchased our kayaks from there (folks here are also extremely nice and helpful). Oh, and if you're curious, both of these kayaks are listed as in-stock online again; after a quick visit to the store in person before heading to REI I confirmed that they were in fact not in stock lmao.

Bought a mini bike from there 3 hours ago. Used it for an hour and rear wheel bearing went out. Spoke to the manager working today at 4:35pm. Said it not our problem call someone else. Garbage place.

Really embarrassed I can't recall the guy's name outstanding job & the main reason I came back the next day to buy the Sig SAUER 16x42 binoculars. Something like a Swedish accent, tall, blondish. They didn't have enough staff & he filled in helping me with high dollar nocs. Also the waders. VERY helpful & knowledgeable.

One cashier and a line with 20 people Friday afternoon! They seem to have troubles stocking the popular items that people use in the interior, and have lots of equipment that's not useful around here. I guess it's great for the weekend warrior.

Except for the gun department, the rest of the store need to be stocked. Seems kind of empty. Looks like it’s going to the foo foo side. I’ll be surprised at the store in Fairbanks doesn’t close.
