I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent experience at your Staples location in Pinole. I returned an Amazon item at this store expecting it to be sent back promptly. However, I later found out that the item was not sent back to Amazon.

Upon calling the store, the supervisor on duty not only made excuses for this oversight but also showed a lack of empathy regarding the inconvenience caused. I had to drive back to the store to scan a barcode, which was an unnecessary hassle.

To make matters worse, when I expressed my desire to speak with the supervisor in person to resolve the issue, I was told that he would not be available, leaving me feeling unsatisfied with the service provided.

I am disappointed with the handling of my situation and the apparent lack of customer care training among the supervisory staff. This experience has left me reluctant to use your services in the future.

I would appreciate it if you could address this issue and ensure better training and customer service at your stores.

Rude. The Assistant Manager (Cody) was absolutely rude, interrupted me when telling him about his impact and told me it was my problem because I didn't like what he was telling me. I understood just fine that the store policy changed, but the tone was all around that I was at fault and bothering him. It's not hard to find a new solution with a customer when their expectations changed, but the way he suggested a new solution was incredibly off-putting.

He literally said "it's not my fault that you got butthurt because I told you something I didn't like."

If he hates working there so much, get another job.

The employee who only works there on Saturdays was 200% kinder than the Assistant Manager.

Update: I went to Office Depot and they were ACTUALLY kind, helpful and professional. I don't know what your Assistant Manager's problem was, but I would encourage everyone to go to Office Depot instead. Even if it's further, it's better than being treated like dirt.

I’ve been a loyal customer at this Staples for many years, but in the past year, ever since they started accepting Amazon returns, the experience has gone downhill. While I think offering Amazon drop-offs is a great idea—especially as someone who shops on Amazon—it’s clear the employees here don’t feel the same. Every time I drop something off, regardless of who’s working, I’m met with an attitude that screams annoyance.

As a customer, I don’t want to hear employees vent about how much they dislike handling Amazon returns. It’s unprofessional. I work for a big corporation myself, and I’d never dream of complaining to a customer about my job. Just do your job. Customers aren’t there to be the target of your frustrations. It’s frustrating and leaves a bad impression every time.

This location is typically efficient with Amazon returns, and I have always enjoyed coming here for that reason. However, I was recently informed that the Amazon return system has been down since Friday, December 20, 2024. It is concerning that such an issue has not been prioritized for resolution.

It was really weird because I thought I had been calling an Office Depot given the phone numbers and the info on the Web. Turns out it was Staples! Who knew? Anyway, everything was great. I had pre-ordered some clip on badges in there. They were waiting for me as promised! Love the store and the people who work there I highly recommend staples for any of your business or personal office needs.

The visit was a normal one just to buy printer ink. When I engaged, at check-out, with the cashier, he was so friendly, and patient, and had me laughing when I walked out of the store. Thank you.

Off the beaten track, this store never has a crowd. There's always an available and helpful employee and almost never a long line. They have a lot of printers so there's always one available. The shelves are always stocked, so I always find what I need. They also give a discount off your next purchase for returned empty ink cartridges, so I can save and feel good about recycling.
