I went there today on Sunday at 10:40am. The store was dark, the Open sign wasn't lit up in the window and no one answered our knock. The website as well as another sign with their store hours says they're open on Sundays at 10am-4 pm. Not happy. I guess I'll have to go back another day.

I went back today on Wednesday and it was well worth it! Such a great store! Lots of antiques, books and furniture, among other great finds! So clean , well organized and wonderful to walk around in and explore. I will definitely be going back again. The owner and her daughter are so very nice and helpful. 🙂

I drove up from Eureka because everyone said the book selection was great. I showed up about 10:30am and the store was closed. The hours on Goggle and on the door show that it should open at 10. I know that sometimes things happen and people are running late so I ran around town and checked out some other stuff and did some errands. I came back at noon and the store is still closed. From what I can see through the window the book selection does look amazing. I'm disappointed that I won't get to check it out though.

This is the place to buy books. Huge selection of books of all genres, cheap prices. Most of the books I got were a dollar each. Also has lots of housewares, decorations, art, vinyls, furniture, shells, rocks, etc. Ran by a sweet elderly lady who owns the place. She told us about how she is often targeted by thieves. If you like thrifting and antiques, consider checking out this store!

How fun to meet Mrs Sylvia, what a treasure she is. I wish I'd had more time I could have spent a week looking at the books.

The store lady was nice but very odd. I brought a picture frame to the cash register, it had $5 marked on it. She told me that it is not for sale and I said okay so you won’t be selling this to me? She said not for $5 and took it away. It was just very odd, didn’t try to give me a different price or anything. She said someone must have mismarked it. I say, thats on the shop owner to honor and check prices, I was just trying to support local. She just turned away and ignored me, didn’t say sorry or anything. I just feel it was a very odd experience, unfortunately probably won’t be back

I visited the store, the owner is a old lady, I bought a few books, I paid with cash, and then later, she said I didn’t pay for some of my items. She then left the room and when she came back she said “bye, have a good day” like nothing had happened! I think she is dealing with some memory loss problems. Otherwise, the store has a lot of furniture and variety of items.

While the prices are a little higher than other similar stores, Sylvia's is an amazing little place. I could go on forever about all the intriguing stock I've seen going there. It's always fun looking at all the 100+ year old furniture, and looking through the tapes and vinyl. There's also a great selection of 8tracks, magazines, you name it. Also a great place for VHS, Sylvia's always has rarer, and harder to find tapes, some even local. Overall, definitely worth checking out. If your local, or out of town, Sylvia's never disappoints.
