If you’ve never been to Istanbul and walked the narrow alleys of the Grand Bazaar, then no need to stress because the taste of Turkish sweets just settled in Beautiful Hayward at The Old City nuts and spices. Their sweets are unlike those packaged Turkish delights instead they’re shipped fresh and served by the friendly customer service you’d wish the DMV staff was trained by The staff here. They have a great variety of nuts and candies (gummies). If you didn’t already know, middle eastern people love their sweets. Now there is no need to buy an airline ticket to Istanbul to try it for yourself, but right here in. Hayward! I’ll be back soon to try more!

My partner and I discovered this shop around Christmas time and have been in several times since. They have a wonderful selection of Middle Eastern fine chocolates and Turkish delight in pretty wrappers you can select from the bins, spiced nuts and seeds, spices and teas. There is a variety of small cushions and tea sets as well. Fabulous treasure of a place with friendly staff.

Excited to have this shop bring the sweet and savory flavors to Hayward. I was able to get several things including my favorite “Burma” phyllo dough and pistachio dessert. Their gummies are stellar, spices are fantastic, Dubai chocolate is tasty and service is great.

Delicious chocolate and candies! Authentic Turkish/middle-east style sweets and snacks. The chocolate-covered cheesecake bites were great! Turkish delights were good and authentic.

Lots of savory bulk spices for sale, like Sumac and other spice mixes. Nuts and other snacks, too. Everything was delicious.

Pristinely beautiful and high quality chocolates along with nuts, gummies, spices and Turkish delight. I've already given these wrapped chocolates as gifts a few times. This shop is worth a trip.

I happens to pass by the store. It was clean, neat and modern which made me give it another look. I decided to go in and was pleasantly greeted by the person inside (I didn’t catch his name). I was curious about different things and he helped answer questions. He suggested the pistachio delight and asked me if I wanted to try it. I did and it was absolutely incredible! I got half a roll. I want to go back and try all of the Turkish delights. This is such a wonderful place!

What a GEM of a food import store. I heard about this place on Yelp. I read they had the Dubai chocolate bar, they did - small chocolate square versions. I sample bought from the mixed nuts, the nougat rolls, and a few wrapped chocolates. Everything was of high quality and delicious. I was really surprised by the roasted, smoked spiced nuts. They are not your Trader Joe variety. These are huge with great taste. The nut mix has pistachios, cashews, hazelnuts, almonds. According to the salesperson, the nuts are imported from Jordan. It goes to show you how the nut products we get in our stores are mediocre quality. I will be going back to try more of a variety of the sweets and of course the roasted nuts. I am really grateful an international store like this is located in Hayward. I would have expected to find such a place in S.F. or Contra Costa county. This little store deserves our community support. We need more unique shops like this one in Hayward. Oh, and of course, the gentleman who provided customer service was 5 star too.

I am not too familiar with many of the sweets and offerings here but decided to come in and got some very friendly service and recommendations from the gentleman here. We got some variety gummies, Dubai chocolate, Turkish delight and baklava. I was impressed with the variety of seeds, nuts, spices, imported goods. The store is very nicely laid out. I am happy I went in and gave it a try because all the items we purchased are immaculate. Definitely recommend this place!
