We've always wanted to try The Tamale Factory in Augusta, AR. We were heading out to survey a private land owner's swamplands for rare plants, and amongst the expansive fields you drive through on the way to get there, all of a sudden you see a large barn with a parking lot, completely full of vehicles, in the middle of "nowhere". It was so beautiful at sunset and the staff were so incredibly welcoming. We sat down and tried their famous tamales and chili, which was just perfect for an impromptu Friday date night dinner 🙂

So happy we stopped in before closing, (they are only open Fridays and Saturdays 5-10pm). We thoroughly enjoyed their tamales! They have fancy steaks, salads, a few other options and a full bar, but we had bottomless sweet tea instead. Their staff was super sweet, attentive and courteous and the food came out really fast. This is a fun and interactive meal where you unwrap each tamale and cover them with chili before devouring them with a big smile. Definitely recommended!!!!

Let’s talk steak. If I order a 2lb steak for $70. I expect a full sear on both sides and my steak should have time to rest off the grill before it is cut or served. Most general rules for a good steak. There’s a reason it’s called the tamale factory and not the steak factory. Me and a friend both order medium rare steaks. Mine was medium rare his was blue rare. Both steaks were cut right off the grill and only seared on the top. The bill for 3 people was $270 for that kind of money you can cook my steak right and leave it alone. Not to mention when they cut the steak they didn’t cut the tendons out along the bone so every other bite you had to chew for 30 mins and hope you didn’t choke trying to swallow. There’s better steaks around.
The service was awful we saw our server twice the dining area wasn’t full by any means. I just wouldn’t recommend.

Excellent food! The 4 of us shared 1 dozen tamales with chili, a small salad each and a 3lb porterhouse topped with fries. We were all stuffed and price was reasonable. Service was above and beyond,
1st time there but will visit again soon!

Heard about this gem in Gregory, Arkansas and made the drive from Little Rock just to try. This place is awesome and has a legendary taste ? Staff was above and beyond great and it was a pleasure coming here. Definitely recommend this spot!

Tamales and steak....crazy busy with large party. Waitress took care of us. We were literally eating steak with fork...got an extra dozen tamales to go...Tamales and chili wrapped very securely for transport. Kinda pricey, worth it!

This is one of the best steak restaurants in the state. Its off the beaten path, but more than worth the trip. Google will get you right to the front door. We eat there often and are always happy. They're still doing great!

This place is excellent! The Porterhouse steak was some of the best I’ve had, my wife enjoyed her shrimp, the service was outstanding, and the beer prices were more than fair. This place is a must if you’re in the area!
