Check out their pizza! Huge pieces for $3.75! Big enough for two people. Sourdough crust. Really like the veggie, those Jalapeños pack some heat. This is a hearty pizza you will actually have to chew. No grease, feels healthy eating this and will fill you up without making you feel gross.

They had Focaccia, day old for $3! Wow!! Made muffaletta at home. Made 4 huge amazing sandwiches. Great bread! Thanks guys.

Update!12/30/20 have been coming back for the bread. No flies now, maybe one of the workers was possessed or it was a demon attached to me like in the Exorcist, or possibly the cooler weather? Anyhow, excellent breads, they sell day-old for half the price (on the big rack to the left when you enter) and it is excellent. The staff are very kind and helpful.

Original post, One Star, Flies flies everwhere, not a place I'd eat!
Thought we found our bakery but.... The case with the treats, danish, rolls and cookies, was chock full of fruit flies and house flies... Nooooo spank you! Worker was very nonchalant about it like that's the norm. So I'm wearing a mask and sanitizing my hands constantly but flies on our food is no big deal?

I walked in and it was dark and I heard foreigners talking in the background. I did not smell fresh bread cooking. Then I walked out. No one was attending to the front entrance customers. I understand they deliver locally and would love to get a fresh loaf of sweet bread if they make that kind there. I miss that bread from San Francisco.

I can't recommend this bakery enough. Their chocolate chip cookies are perfect. They're soft, large enough to share and delicious. I also highly recommend their scones, especially apple. Their bread is always fresh and delicious. There's so many great options to pick. Be sure to get there early for the discounted loafs. Each time I'm in town I stock with on bread and pastries at Village Baker.

Never been disappointed. Everything's delicious. The staff is friendly. The building inside could use a touch up cause it looks like it is not well kept, that's just the atmosphere not the truth. It is after all a working bakery.

Bought 2 items.
Cranberry/apricot bread: 5 stars
Marion berry scone: 0 stars.
Worst scone I’ve ever had. Actually spit it out in garbage. Either I got a week old scone or they make scones very dry. Never had a scone that bad.
On a road trip through town, so not like i can get money back or exchange it🙁

I would not recommend the pastries here. However the bread and pizza are absolutely amazing! The staff can be kind of grumpy but I think that it's an interesting change if pace from the expected overly enthusiastic bakery counter staff 😆. I'll definitely go back

Went in a bit after noon on a Saturday and got a couple items. Walnut brownie was too old, top was stale but the interior tasted great so buy earlier in the day. Pizza is the best thing to get here.

I have bought twice from this bakery. Both time I was disappointed! Sourdough bread were under proofed, and under baked. The flour they used were tasteless. Never go there unless you have no other option. Nearby co op and Safeway sell much better sourdough bread. Totally disaster!
