The sales experience at Huntington Beach Toyota itself was pleasant, but everything thereafter was a nightmare.

I purchased a used Honda accord from this dealership in August of 2024 and the vehicle came with a warranty on the drive train. Shortly into owning my vehicle I discovered a burned oil smell and lifted the car to investigate further. I found several leaks on the engine block and decided to take it in for service at Huntington Beach Toyota as this is required by the warranty and surely lubricated components of the engine would be covered by a drive train warranty.

Initially they told me they would need to schedule the inspection of my car a week out so I scheduled this appointment and had my car sit for the next week. Upon completion of the inspection I was told there was only an oil leak in the oil filter which was absolutely not true. When I offered to show them my photos of the oil leaks they changed their story and told me they would cover the gasket replacements on the engine block. I checked in once again about the status of my car and was told the part would be in within the next two days. A week later I checked in once more and was not given a straight answer.

I then went to the dealership where I found out they did not even maintain paperwork on my car nor had put in any of the work orders they had assured me were being done. I have now taken my car back and verified that several gaskets including the one along the solenoid and vtec are in fact damaged and in need of replacement which they claimed was not the case.

From my experience I would warn anyone that may be thinking to purchase or service a car at this dealership to go anywhere else. At best this is a result of gross incompetence and at worst is a result of intent to deceive their customers.

My experience with Toyota of Huntington Beach was great! I had been hunting down a specific Tacoma color and package. I found the exact vehicle in their inventory, called in to verify it was still available, negotiated the price and drove down to pick it up. I have to say I’m a little disappointed. Bryan my salesman was outstanding. Start to finish it was a super easy buying experience. I was literally in and out with a new (used) car in 2.5 hours. Brian the fiancé guy was good too. Lots of neat tech on the financing end.
My problem comes in with the payoff of my trade in. It never happened. I got a late payment notice from my credit union for my old vehicle. I called and asked for Brian the Finance guy and left a message which wasn’t returned. The next day I called 3 times in a row and was hung up on all three times. I had to text them and when the call was returned the person on the other end of the line was very brusque, as if I was inconveniencing him. What started out great was seriously downgraded by some poor customer service.
